This would be an awesome option. I already try to get as much of my records in electronic format as possible, but I still get a substantial amount of paper. This would allow me to scan the paper and electronically file, then shred the originals into the recycle bin. I wouldn’t need to keep hard copy file folders anymore. WIN!
April 22nd, 2009 at 10:04 am
I read about your app yesterday and thought: yes, I could use that. But thought it sounded too good to be true. My desk is somewhere in my office, but I lost it about a year ago. My desk is the reason they invented laptops.
April 22nd, 2009 at 10:18 am
How wonderful to have ALL of my files with me whenever I need them. NeatReceipts allows me to do this. I can scan my receipts and documents in real time and then shred them! I have a permanent record of all my papers with me. Virtual desktop, virtual file cabinet, virtual office, really GREAT!!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 10:24 am
I think that NeatDesk is absolutely amazing. I have 2 filing cabinets full of paper and files that I plan on putting into an electronic filing system and the Neat software is stunning with how it organizes what is inputed into the system. This product will not only be used for my personal family files, but for our business files as well and will help by not only reducing the paper piles, but will reduce cost as well by reducing the need of printing out receipts; saving on the cost of paper, ink and the time of filing the paperwork. The Neat Company has done a wonderful job of making a product specifically for the need of people and companies like ours.
April 22nd, 2009 at 10:31 am
I could use this because I get a lot of paper work from my kids schools that I have filed away in a file cabinet and would love to get rid of. My wife would benefit from this also with her school paper work that is piling up.
April 22nd, 2009 at 10:35 am
With the advent of laptops being more common place than desktops, and more affordable, it makes perfect sense that the next step is integrated digital records. I am personally planning to convert my personal and business records to digital files. The convenient size and versatility of the NeatDesk and NeatWorks system is exactly what I have been looking for.
April 22nd, 2009 at 10:47 am
This would be amazing for my production work. Producing a documentary (www.amcdocumentary.org) and I have stacks of video releases, travel receipts, medical reports from interviews, contracts and more. I can’t stand filing and I am afraid I am going to start to lose documents. Great idea and a better way to save the environment.
April 22nd, 2009 at 10:51 am
I have been keeping hard copies of every letter, receipt, computer printouts since my nasty divorce in 2000. Whatever in paper form, you name it, I have it. My files are everywhere filled up in boxes I left in my garage and basement. It has become truly overwhelming!!! Sometimes I feel like I am living in a junk yard!!!
I really hope that NeatDesk could help me finally keep a copy of everything, so that I could LET GO of my hard copies. I am talking about LETTING GO–a feeling of losing something.
Right now I am trying the less expansive version (because I have limited resources), and I am crossing my fingers to wish that I could win in this 2009 Earth Day Giveaway.
Wish me luck!!! Thanks!!!

I am the records coordinator for a K-12 education institution and would have many ways to use this desktop scanner as I categorize and classify records to load into our document repository. We have student, employee and business records and we are drowning in paper. This nifty Neatco device would be put to good use on my desk and is exactly what I need to get my job done smarter, not harder.
April 22nd, 2009 at 11:25 am
With all the medical receipts, documents, prescriptions, and bills we get for our son, this would be awesome!!! It’s exactly what I’ve been searching for, seriously, for months! It would make things so much easier to keep track of and organized without overrunning the house with file cabinets.
April 22nd, 2009 at 11:40 am
Good post.
April 22nd, 2009 at 11:52 am
I am a pack rat for everything paper: letters, years old school papers, business cards, and receipts!
I would love to scan files into my computer the minute I get them and not have to worry about them any more.
NeatDesk looks like it could help clean my desk, room, and life.
April 22nd, 2009 at 12:10 pm
Spending several hours each month scanning, cleaning up, categorizing and data entry isn’t my idea of a “good time”. *Anything* that can reduce the time/effort to track and organize my expenses would be wonderful. And getting rid of that shoebox of receipts… priceless.
April 22nd, 2009 at 12:13 pm
as a Real Estate agent the amount of papers is sometimes overwhelming. I am always looking for a quick and easy way to control the monster.
April 22nd, 2009 at 12:25 pm
I stopped by your booth when I was passing through the Toronto airport recently. Thought the products looked amazing — exactly what I had been looking for to deal with all those papers on my desk at home that I don’t want to throw out but don’t know quite what to do with (so they just keep piling up!!). Besides for personal use, I think my accountant would be thrilled to see me use this for my business expenses as well. I hit your website today to look into the products further.
Dreaming of a clean, organized home office…
April 22nd, 2009 at 12:54 pm
I have been looking at NeatDesk for some time and am very glad that NeatDesk for Mac just came out! NeatDesk would help me organize all the clutter (Bills, Manuals, Receipts, Business Cards, Insurance Paperwork, Warranty Information, etc) in my life. Having all my personal data at my fingertips will be invaluable!
April 22nd, 2009 at 12:59 pm
I think my paperwork is close to being under control, but adding my children’s paperwork to the mix is hard. I have so many hand prints, first written words, and artwork I would love to scan and save digitally. I can only imagine what it will be like after I begin homeschool in the Fall! I need a good system in place before the Summer! Thanks for this opportunity!
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:01 pm
I’d love something like this. I’m not very good at keeping paper files organized (and I’m a CPA…) but electronic files, so much easier!
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:17 pm
My husband and I are both self employed. So that means a lot of paper. I have to save so much paper that my filing cabinets are just about full. I reuse and then recycle as much as I can, but with documents that have to be kept I can’t do that, which means it can’t be reused. If I had a NeatDesk I would have much more room and the ability to use both sides of the paper before sending it off for recycling. We also have 4 children, that right there is a lot of paper. We started recycling 5 years ago when they instead that we recycle. So we know have separate bins for each material. The less paper is always better. This would be a blessing.
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:27 pm
I have visions of reducing my storage space in half! Yes, please, let’s scan all those receipts and business cards and do away with all that paper. Now if I could have the receipts scan right into Quickbooks, my life would be complete.
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:28 pm
This would help me to clean up my life more than any one can imagine!! I have saved all of my paper copies of bills, statements, receipts, magazine articles and clippings. I have looked into these before, but have never been able to afford something like this. I have a lifetime of build up that would easily be cleared with the help of NeatDesk!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:38 pm
I have such a mess on my desk because I hate throwing stuff out because it might be important. This would surely help me get organized
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:49 pm
Oh I need this, you have no idea how I need this. We are adopting our first child in 4 weeks. My husband who is a pack rat has filled a room with his papers and junk, now he is learning about re-evaluating space. He has moved out of his office which we have turned into a nursery and we are sharing my office. We had to buy 2 large industrial filling cabinets so that he could file his papers and documents away. This would save me from going insane because of our shared office space. My desk has the usual papers on it which would get cleaned up fast with the NeatDesk for Mac. His desk looks like a tornado hit it. Without a doubt I know the NeatDesk for Mac we will be able to save our marriage and keep our office in the Zen stage.
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:54 pm
Definitely Want to Win One! I love the concept and what a day to celibrate Earth Day with something that actually helps us store items electronically, reduces clutter and helps us organize our lives all at the same time! Great job Neat Company!
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:54 pm
I am always on the road, and neat is the only way I can make sure that I stay organized and capture all of my expenses. Before that time I simply lost money on every business trip.
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:54 pm
Recently, as a result of corporate downsizing, I was let go from my employer. Now the real work begins! Having the capabilities of NeatDesk would 1) allow me to clip and organize job postings, advertisements and the like, so I can better follow up on those that are promising; 2) allow me to eliminate a lot of clutter to increase my focus on the task at hand; and 3) demonstrate to prospective employers how technologically savvy I am, and would be as an asset to their company!
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:54 pm
I have been using a NeatReceipt for Mac for a while, and find it invaluable while I’m on the road. A NeatDesk unit would allow me to bring the full advantages of turning paper into bits to my desktop, eliminating paper waste and allowing me to recycle all that I can.
The ability of Neat’s solutions to be quite accurate at OCR would make all the difference.
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:55 pm
I bought a Neat Receipts three years ago and it has completely transformed the way I manage paper in my office. While the company emphasizes it’s ability to organize and manage receipts, I find that everything I used to keep on paper can be transformed into digital format easily and efficiently. It is easily the best piece of office equipment I have purchased. Since my purchase, I can confidently say I would buy another in a heartbeat.
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:55 pm
Being able to reduce the clutter of hard copies and then shred the original to recycling would be great! I just have to make sure I have multiple backups of all my e-copy records, HA!
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:55 pm
This would be an incredible resource in a startup government policy group setting. We are constantly scared of audits, losing track of precious receipts, or the invaluable business card that could be the difference between getting a project off the ground or having it stall in its place. NeatDesk could keep track of necessary legislation, receipts, business cards, and other documents all in one place. Invaluable.
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:55 pm
My wife saves everything. After 22 years we have two filing cabinets full of paper and we can never find anything when we need it. This is the solution!!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:56 pm
I try to scan my receipts by hand and it is very time consuming. So much so that I’ve fallen behind and the paper is piling up. Also, there is no useful software that came with my scanner to help organize all of these electronic documents. NeatDesk would simplify this process tremendously.
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:56 pm
We have virtually converted our office from paper to digital and the neat receipts plays a large role. We save literally a ream of paper and ink from cartridges (ie saving trees and landfills) every month.
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:56 pm
My desk is under a pile of receipts…
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:56 pm
I use the old single scanner. It helps keep all my business receipts in one place and available. Can not wait to try the new neatdesk program
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:56 pm
I am a recovering packrat - I had papers from before my marriage 25 years ago squirreled in boxes, bags or just about anything I could stuff them in. With my trusty Neat Scanner and Neatworks - now everything gets scanned - and I even archive by year now - putting the archives on CD/DVD and in my safe they go! Technology - absolutely have to love it - and I can’t live without it now - and think of all the trees I will save as I switch to paperless statements and bills - it’s great to get them in PDF - import them and file away - simple - straightforward and a fantastic solution!
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:56 pm
I would use Neat Desk to scan my receipts before I shred them. It would greatly simplify my life and reduce my paper clutter around the office.
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:56 pm
I’ve been digging my NeatReceipts for Mac since last summer, but boy, that NeatDesk sure looks… neat! I’m staring at a desk full of clutter, mostly because it’s still a little too slow to have a completely paperless world with the existing scanner. Doing multiple pages in a snap with NeatDesk would be golden! If I beg nicely, does that help me in any way?
Keep up the great work!
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:56 pm
Using Neat means not having to make copies. I have the copies on disc, *if* I need a hard copy, then I can make one. I am in a very paper/copy heavy industry — financial services. I am saving a lot of paper.
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:57 pm
Wow, a Neat Desk would be awesome!! I currently own a Neat Receipts scanner and absolutely love it! However, I don’t use it as often as I should because it takes a bit of thought: I actually to sit down and scan documents. But if I set the NeatDesk up, I could scan in much less time since the machine would live on my desk full-time.
Even if I don’t win, you all keep up the good work. I love my Neat Receipts and am very happy with the quality of the scans.

My daughter thinks I am crazy because I have the small scanner that I take on the plane to work on expense reports before the are unmanageable. Great tool that frees up time for other things
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:57 pm
I’m an Investment Advisor and the laws associated with record keeping are extraordinary. I’ve been using Neat Receipts for six months and I promote the product with every client. It’s made a huge difference with efficiency and time management.
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:57 pm
I’ve been trying a number of digitizer solutions for all the wasteful amounts of paper I accumulate but I must say that NeatDesk solution appears to be the most comprehensive and most customized to address the problem of drowning in receipts!
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:57 pm
I love my neat receipts scanner. It makes keeping record so much easyer. I scan all my documents and send them in email.
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:58 pm
Two good reasons I would love a NeatDesk
#1) I currently have three 4-drawer file cabinets full… perfect to get rid of those.
#2) My wife teaches school. She has taught 4 grades in 4 years. I would love for to be able to scan in all those lesson plans and student handouts and have them just a click away!
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:58 pm
I love my NeatReceipts scanner! As a small business owner, I used to hire a bookkeeper to keep track of my expense receipts. For the past two years I have handled this task by myself. The NeatDesk will make this cumbersome task even easier!
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:58 pm
I bought my neat receipts (mac) on the way thru the ATL airport on the way home from a business trip. And I was thoroughly impressed with its compact size, and software that was almost plug n play. I was able to sort and file over 3 months of receipts for work and home in a 2 day period. I would love a Neat Desk for the home office to go with my Neat (mac).. my wife works off of PC and the two are not compatible .
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:58 pm
Great software that actually works. We run a wedding photography company (www.kristinedittmer.com), and the Neat system allows us to have instant access to scanned receipts, contracts, and other important documents. Neat is just a first class company.
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:58 pm
I use my scanner to keep a running total of expense reports. I would be lost without it. It keeps me completely organized. Thanks for such a wonderful product.
NeatDesk looks like I nice new product. I could use it at home also i am sure.
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:58 pm
I already use NeatReceipts and just love it. It just works like a charm. Thanks to it, filing for my taxes this year was much easier and much less stressful. NeatDesk does just the same, only much faster and with fewer manipulations. I just can’t wait to win it!
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:59 pm
Rebates and Warranties! I have often been unable to take advantage of warranty on many of the electronics and other items I purchase because I can never find the $^&*%^# receipt.
The same with rebates, I can scan all the receipts, barcodes, etc before I mail it, then I am able to chase them when the rebate gets “lost”.
This alone should repay my Neat little investement in a few months.
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:59 pm
I temporarily relocated overseas and had to bring 10 file boxes of papers (years of medical receipts, bills, account statements, and more. They will all be scanned and discarded before I go back. Sure would be great if they become an intelligent database rather than just pdf images.
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:59 pm
I have to say that NeatDesk will change my life! Well, it will give me a lot of my weekends back as now it takes me forever to do my expenses. Also, being able to scan PDFs in an instant will be great. Finally, chucking all my business cards in the recycling bin will be such a good feeling. It would take me years to enter all the business card info. You have a great product!! I would love a NeatDesk to help me go GREEN!
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:59 pm
I have always wanted to get rid of my file cabinets and give myself more space in my office. This product would work great for me and I see on your site that even the IRS will accept the documents scanned in. My wife and I travel a lot and it would be great to scan in the receipts and email them to our company versus sending via USPS and wondering if the report will get there. I see you even work with my MAC a major plus.
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:59 pm
I am in the insurance business and before my neat scanner, I made copies of everything and then had to file them and heaven forgive if I had to find someone’s information.
Today I scan everything in record time and when someone calls I can easily pull up there entire file without losing a beat.
I have almost scanned all my old files to make my live easier as well.
Highly recommend this product.
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:59 pm
Best business decision ever. That’s exactly what I needed and the work you put in is minimal compared to what you get. Neat order in my office and home.
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:59 pm
I would LOVE to win a NeatDesk for Mac! It would be so helpful in organizing all of our receipts. The ability to categorize under various projects/clients is a dream!
What a time-saver this would be. I am going to tell everyone about this fabulous product!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:00 pm
Running a photography studio we are bombarded with documents from client contracts to receipts to business cards for other vendors we need to keep contact with having everything available to search on our computer is a huge time savings!!! As a small business owner and happy father of a 7 month old my time is important and being organized is very important.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:00 pm
I am a professional organizer and help people remove clutter from their lives. One of my personal goals is to go totally paperless. I receive many records and receipts electronically but for those that still arrive in paper form, NeatDesk for Mac would go a long way in helping me eliminate paper from my office.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:00 pm
I was sorting receipts the other day and noticed that those that were about a year and older had faded, and had become difficult, if not impossible to read. I wonder how I am to keep these receipts for 7 years (as requird by law). With an a scanned copy of the receipts fading isn’t an issue.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:00 pm
Wow! This is just what I could use to simplify life in the office. And home too. Self employeed people always looking for ways to save time and money and to help reduce paper waste. I would LOVE to adapt to digital filing, shred the paper, and send it on for recycling.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:00 pm
I have not seen my desk for years, would be nice to see it again!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:01 pm
I think my neatdesk scanner is the greatest thing since sliced bread! I have reduced my overhead bottom line by reducing unneccesary amounts of paper that I would, in the past, use for report writing. Now I can just add all my receipts and documentation to an electronic version report. Thanks Neat works!!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:01 pm
I have been using the portable scanner to try to clean my desk off for a year now and would love the desktop model–nobody sees all of my crap when I hide it in my computer!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:01 pm
Awesome, keep up the good work as your program is one of a kind.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:01 pm
As a student I am currently struggling with my daily school paperwork to my personal paperwork. This product would be awesome for me as not only would I be able to scan everything but I would be able to scan multiple things at once. Definitely a students dream scanner!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:02 pm
We love neatreceipt! All our legal paperwork; retail receipts; warranty cards; medical records; contacts are stored using neatreceipts!!! We bought the of version and loved it so much we ordered the mac version. Thanks and I love that it adds to our address book on our mac.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:02 pm
This past tax season was effortless all thanks to NeatReceipts. All my important documents were scanned and ready to go. All I had to do was send them off to my accountant.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:02 pm
Fits easily into my laptop bag and helps me scan in my receipts instead of making copies on paper then mail the paper to my company.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:02 pm
I can’t wait to simplify my life and get rid of all the paper that’s cluttering my office.
Boy, am I ready.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:02 pm
I have been using the portable neat receipt software and scanner for many years. Use it for everything. This year I started my own business so I am using it for tax purposes. So far, so good.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:02 pm
Neat receipts has allowed me to manage a lot of aspects of my business all from one place. I love the ability to manage business cards and keep all my receipts in one place!
Great product!
Thanks,
Michael
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:02 pm
I can’t keep up with the receipts and paper even with the old scanner. The new one looks to be a much better option.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:02 pm
I keep way too many pieces of paper around. It would be great to have a fast scanner to allow me to free my home office of paper-clutter.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:02 pm
This is a godsend. It keeps my IRS records for my various small and somewhat disorganized businesses straight and I know it saves me money because deductions would just float away if they weren’t electronically stored and organized.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:02 pm
NeatCo has made a brilliant solution to reduce paper clutter! It’s greatly organized and reduced the amount of receipts and paperwork needed for taxes, medical, school, business cards, letters, contracts, etc.. Being able to search and sort by name has been a life saver during tax season and NeatDesk can make my life even more efficient by scanning numerous documents of all sizes simultaneously! I can’t wait!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:02 pm
This would be awesome to have! I accumulate a large amount of paper and to be able to reduce the piles down to just an electronic copy is a great idea. I am working on remodelling my office and a new desk would be perfect!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:02 pm
I am ready to get rid of the boxes of receipts that are pretty soon about to become furniture, because I am running out of room
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:02 pm
Scanning important documents can reduce paper that you need to save, and easy search can improve performance and save time
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:02 pm
Hi- it really does not matter whether I win the prize or not, just continue to make neat products I can use instead of stock piling. I do believe that we or at least I could eliminate some or all single function office machines with the Neat Scanner.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:02 pm
years and years of paperwork and receipts all organized! i hope i win!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:03 pm
As a college student and a web developer, this would be GREAT for me. I have looked into using NeatDesk integrated through its API with web services to upload documents for some of my corporate clients looking to ease their workflow, and I can see how this would be incredibly useful to me as a contractor and a student to be able to scan my homework and assignments and keep them as PDFs on my computer, scan and email contracts and leases, keep business cards in order, and just use to file my files easily!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:03 pm
What a NEAT company. Let me get serious. I am a professional banker. Over the last three years my business has become mobile. First thing I purchased was the portable scanner. This little tool has made me thousands and has helped over 100 clients. Every professional needs one.
Thanks
Tony
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:03 pm
There’s a huge file cabinet in my office with years of paper records. Using NeatDesk, I could get rid of the cabinet, and put a potted plant in its place. Going digital is great!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:03 pm
I love Neat Receipts! It is incredibly easy to use and the software is helpful in organizing all my receipts, important documents, and business cards. It is such a relief to know I will be able to find the documents I’m looking for within seconds with a click of the mouse. I have been using the product for a month and I have already organized all my paperwork. Thank you Neat Receipts!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:04 pm
Oh man, a NeatDesk solution would be the end all - I could finally get all of my small business documents (tax files, customer documents, legal documents, etc) in one easlily managed place! Talk about Nirvana!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:04 pm
This would be an excellent way to save paper.A single sheet of paper may seem like an insignificant thing. But the use of thousands of sheets each day can have a huge impact on the environment.NeatDesk would help me accomplish my Mission which is the three R’s — reduce, reuse and recycle paper and energy.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:04 pm
I have two offices and I use the Neat Desk at one of them. My desk is 100% free of paper at all times. I scan all paper into the computer and am able to view at any time. I would like another Neat Desk Scanner at my other office so that I can do the same thing - and then I will be able to shatre my files between the two offices. This is the first time I ever purchased a product at an Airport Kiosk - and I couldn’t be happier. I had occassion to call customer service a few times for help - and they could not have been more professional and helpful. This is an excellent product and I can’t see runnuing an office without it! I would really like one at my ohter office. I would also scan recepits!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:04 pm
I am completely overwhelmed with all the paper I need to keep track of, both at home and at the office. Most of it will never be referenced again, it just needs to be kept — just in case. That which will be used will be needed very infrequently. Electronically filing all these records and shredding the hard copies will be the ideal solution.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:04 pm
This is such a great invention!
I am planning to move to Australia next year and the ability to scan all of our important documents, receipts, and research material in order bring it with us without having to ship it would be AWESOME. The idea of taking an external drive of information instead of filing cabinets would simplify my life in more ways that I can imagine!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:05 pm
Recent developments ” Global Warming “, growing need for conservation of energy, natural resources etc., can be motivating factors for each one of us contribute with possible, atleast minimal give-back to nature.
Although we are already in Digital generation, it would great efforts to digitize, the information required by everyone of us & save the trees
I think Neat Receipts creates products that support these goals
Personally I thank Neat Receipts for these efforts & future endevours

I’ve been using Neat Works and have been a Neat customer for several years. I bought my first NeatReceipts scanner and software in the airport and really liked it a lot. I’ve worked for a few companies and done consulting work and find this to be an excellent way to do expense reports on the go. I scan the receipts and documents in the office and can then work on the reports anywhere because I have the digital receipts. The new scanner is INCREDIBLY fast. I’ve been using it in place of my HP scanner quite frequently because it an handle the volume more quickly and without jamming as much as the ADF on my HP’s.
I sometimes take my original scanner with me when I travel (since it is so small). That way, if I need to sign a document and fax it or get a document to a colleague, or even enter some receipts, I can do it quickly and efficiently on the road!
It is not possible to say enough good things about the folks at Neat. You all have been great with online, live support and Vikram has been superb at helping me to take corporate expense forms and make them into templates for NR so that I can still use this awesome system when I’m doing work for companies who wont’ accept the expense reports which come with the scanner/software.
I’d love to win a new scanner and system. I think my wife could benefit from this and so could a couple of my colleagues.

I love the NeatReceipts that I use at work, it logs our business cards and expenses. I don’t know how I did things before but it makes my job much easier. I’d love to try NeatDesk.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:05 pm
As a Certified Public Bookkeeper you can imagine I get lots clients who just don’t know how to organize paper of any description!! NeatDesk would be an awesome addition to my arsenal - along with my NeatReceipts mobile scanner I have already purchased. NeatDesk would certainly make my life a whole lot easier!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:05 pm
I get tons of paper, so being able to scan everything then recycle is awesome! It will definitely clear off my desk.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:05 pm
This product is absolutely amazing. I hate paper…. what good is a file cabinet when you are on the road or working from home? And how hard is it to find that piece of paper you know you had over 1 year ago but had some details on a project you suddenly need?
Neat Desk does it all. I am not big into receipts, but rather use mine as a virtuak file cabinet. It rocks!!!!
Remember the old saying ‘touch a paper once’ and be efficient. This allows you to do that, get it from the inbox, complete the task and then “file” it so you have it if you ever need it again. No need to track it on your desk “in case” you need it in two weeks.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:06 pm
All the information I need are just one click away, that sound like a dream for me. I already try to scan everything on paper, but there is no organization. Right now it’s just a folder with a bunch of pdf files, like a shoe box filled up with stuff. It would be awesome to get this organized the moment I scan it.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:06 pm
I’ve had my eye on NeatDesk since having to go through my “receipt drawer” this tax season. I keep years of receipts, bills, forms, etc in a filing cabinet as well as in a dedicated drawer in my desk. With a NeatDesk system, not only would I be able to actually easily find these receipts when I need them, I’d be able to shred and recycle all my existing receipts AND free up a drawer.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:06 pm
As a freelancer who travels all the time, it helps to be able to scan directly while I travel without fear of losing receipts or carrying lots of paperwork on the plane. With NeatDesk, it would make it even quicker to scan document and receipts when I’m home. I’ve lived in the same place for a long time. This would get me out from under the paper clutter and make it easier for me to find information when I need it!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:06 pm
I see this device as a great way to finally get my stuff in order. I never do my taxes right because I don’t have the records to back it up. With this tool I could really back up all of my expenses. I would love the neatdesk!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:06 pm
I have been using the neat recipt scanner for years and cannot do without it when it comes tax time.Once you get in the habit of scanning your recipts life becomes just a little less stressful when that time of year rolls around.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:07 pm
I have been trying to go paperless in my home office and, I can see that Neat Desk is clearly the way to go.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:07 pm
I would love to have a convenient way to scan in all the piles of paper that clutter my desk. I’m always trying to help my bookkeeping clients organize their offices, but never get around to my own! NeatDesk would be an excellent companion for me. I might actually one day actually have room to write on my desk!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:07 pm
I bought NeatReceipts for Mac about 6 months ago and LOVE IT! I used to keep all of my receipts in a huge filing cabinet and then once every three years or so, I would shred everything that was outdated. That took forever! Not only that, but if I ever needed to find a receipt, that would involve flipping through hundreds with no guarantee I’d find it. NR saved my live from mountains of paper.
NeatWorks would just take all those benefits and multiply them! Way to go making it finally available for us Mac users!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:07 pm
I already use the NeatReceipts scanner daily, and would love to cut down the about of time I have to hand feed in documents.
NeatWorks is great, even if you go get electronic (or online) statements, you can still import the PDF and have everything in one place that you control!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:07 pm
I’ve used Neat Receipts for a year now on the Mac. It has revolutionized our paper storage issues and helps me track our accounts in many different ways. The greatest limitation to the system is the manual feed scanner when I have a pile of receipts to translate into readable documents. The new desktop scanner looks like it would automate that process and make our workflow much easier. We now ask our employees to scan their receipts before submitting them, but in reality they dump them all into the bookkeeper’s bin to sort out. What a great solution!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:07 pm
I already own two of your portable scanners, one for the desk and one for travel. Having a Neat Desk would simplify my life by having a permanant scanner on the desk and I could do away with my Fujitsu Snap Scan because your Neat Office program allows me to scan PDF files into Word and Excel. I have been looking at the Neat Desk since it came out and winning one would be awesome, not to mention saving me a lot of money. I scan everything. All my travel receipts and all my household receipts. It is so much easier at tax time, all I have to do is print a report and include it with my other forms to the accountant. He also told me that he didn’t have to charge as much this year because of the Neat Receipts reports. Talk about saving money. How can you beat it.
Thanks for your products and exfellant service and I will alway sbe a Neat Receipts fan.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:07 pm
I received neat receipts as a Christmas gift and have been using it ever since. It is wonderful!! I own a small business and all my receipts are finally under control. Everyday I sit down and scan in my receipts and then toss them - its great. No more folders and labels and receipts getting misplaced. I can find everything with a click of a button. It took me no time at all to do my taxese this year! Neatdesk would be amazing because it would allow me to organize all of my business documents and all of our family documents. It will take the cluster out of my life!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:07 pm
I look forward to using NeatDesk to reduce my reams of paperwork. Currently I have multiple boxes of paperwork for each year I have been in business. Perhaps paperwork for 2009 will fit in a shoebox?????
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:07 pm
My desk is covered in papers. Often times there are multiple copies of the same document. Its a pain, this would be a great help.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:07 pm
I love using my new Neat software and scanner. It has made keeping track of documents, receipts and notes almost effortless. I like being able to e-mail from directly within the program, saving time and effort. It’s really a time saver! Thanks for making such a ‘neat’ product!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:07 pm
I work for a globe trotting executive who lately is gone more than here. I continuously am doing expense reports, scanning, faxing and emailing documents. I had to purchase a large capacity stapler to get through the pieces of paper that collect from just his expense reports. Having everything collected into one database for easy retrieval is huge! Then being able to sync all of the business cards he has me add to his contacts in Outlook is dreamy! Take it from me - every assistant should have one of these.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:07 pm
NeatDesk is AWSOME! I already own one. I would like to gift one to my sister. She runs and daycare and has mounds of paperwork. She needs a NeatDesk so she can be as organized as I am. She would love me forever if I could help her out.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:08 pm
I have done my best to run a paperless office for the last 4 years (even just had an article published on it… http://www.travelresearchonline.com/blog/index.php/2009/04/paperless-office-myth-or-reality/)…but have yet to get my hubby converted to going paperless. In fact he just spent the last 4 days wading through paper - so this would be the PERFECT fathers day gift for him!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:08 pm
I could reduce my paperwork by 50%; this would eliminate some of my file cabinets and also save time when I am searching for something.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:08 pm
I am a receipt keeper big time. Often made fun of for keeping every little receipt. Over the years I have always saved them for up to 7 years. Of course the file folder for receipts fr a year is huge. Imagine keeping each year for seven years. That is a lot of file cabinet space. I would love to be able to eliminate taht and have the receipts on my computer in a searchable format.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:08 pm
Imaging everything allows me to destroy paper records immediately. Database capabilities allow me to search efficiently. A great concept, a great product.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:08 pm
I love my NeatReceipts for Mac! It works so well that it makes getting rid of paper a lot more fun! NeatDesk looks really awesome, too.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:08 pm
I love my NeatReceipts, but so does everyone else I work with, so I don’t take it home much anymore! The NeatDesk will help me organize my home office, and eliminate TWO file cabinets that I have to purge every year or two, just becuase I run out of room! (I dread the day I REALLY need something I should have kept!) Having everything at my fingertips and not having to remember exactly which bulky file in which crammed drawer I stuck that tiny little note paper in will be a Godsend!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:08 pm
This is absolutely the best product of it’s kind on the market I have one at the office, and will by buying one for home. Not only does it help unclutter my desk, it made tax time a breeze.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:08 pm
This would defintiely help reduce the paper waste in our medical office. It would also be a fantastic way to manage our receipts for the accountant.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:09 pm
I love NeatReceipts. I scanned about 5 years of paperwork, receipts, invoices, warranties, medical and insurance contracts, legal documents, and I only kept about 2 inches of required legal paperwork. I took 6 large garbage bags of paper to the shredding company for recycling. I can see my desktop, emptied out my filing cabinet and gave it away. I did this years accounting on Neat Receipts and used the reports summary/detail by category to give to my tax accountant on electronic format. No paper being stored here, all being shredded and recycled. It is now easy to keep up to the receipts and paperwork I receive every day. I love my Neat Receipts and would love the desktop model.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:09 pm
Love NeatDesk for PC…Love my Mac…
Very excited about NeatDesk for Mac…
I might have to purchase another system so I have two!!
Organization by NeatDesk Rocks!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:09 pm
With the NeatDesk system, I could stop storing all bills, medical forms, insurance statements, etc in my over flowing file cabinets and recycle the paper.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:09 pm
I am a state & Local Tax Accountant. I use NR to scan in invoices for
companies under S & U audit. Sales tax audit specifically. By forwarding state agents copies via the scan to word or excel. I can create worksheets which are easily controlled as to items found Taxable or exempt from tax. It enables me to conduct audits without providing original documents, and it helps reduce the time state agents are on the premises.I have been able to considerably reduce the time spent on each audit. The company I work for is in 24 states,
so this is a significant savings.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:10 pm
This will be such a great tool considering the volumes of paper created and received at my office and home. It would simplify my life and the lives of those I communicate with.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:10 pm
I am the attendance secretary at a K-12 developmental research school. Daily, I receive
@ 25 - 50 parent/Dr. notes verifying student’s absences. When the data entry is finished they must be filed. Oh, how I would love to be able to use your system. The barrier for me
(I think) is that I would have to type or print (somehow) an identifier on each one before scanning. When I have a few minutes to spare, I’d love to talk with a representative knowledgeable about the product to determine if there is a feasible way I could use it for my
purposes. And, I’d love to have a freebie to give a test run!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:10 pm
Living in a townhouse that has limited storage space has presented challenges for filing. Adding to the filing challenge is the fact that heavy Midwest rains can bring basement flooding so stand alone file cabinets are not much of an option. I have one file box that is packed, and stacks of other receipts and statements both for home and small business laying around with no where to go. I would love the freedom of getting all these items organized and onto my hard drive! Thanks!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:10 pm
We have used it for all of our tax receipts. Since we prepare taxes in our office we have encouraged many of our clients to use NeatReceipts to get more organized.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:10 pm
Be aware that not all are progressive when it comes to going paperless. Recently I tried to return an item to the Home Depot with a print out of a receipt that I had scanned. They refused, wanted to see the original receipt. Some companies claim to be green but drop the ball when it comes to the bigger picture. But I still believe and will continue to scan and shred my receipts.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:10 pm
I currently use Neat Receipts(mobile scanner)in my home office primarily for expense rpeorts. I LOVE it. However, I would like to become more paperles in the office, but also in my home. I would like the ability to scan all of the bills, receipts, account statements, etc and shredd the rest. This proves a little more challenging with my current product. If I win the new unit, this will free up significant drawer and desk space for more important items. Like pictures of my kids.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:11 pm
We have three small companies running in the same location. Receipts for these are so hard to keep separated especially the thermal ones which degrade so quickly. Neatreceipts will file then into separate folders for us instead of the pile of envelopes and boxes that we have. It will make our lives much easier when it come to tax time. It also allows us to keep our contacts close at hand. Neatreceipts is a great product for any growing business.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:11 pm
I have used my Neat receipts for almost two years now and it makes my expense report submissions a breeze. Instead of copying all of my receipts I scan them, file them electronically with my company and file an electronic copy for myself and recycle the originals when I am done with them. The software even organizes my receipts for me so I can find them with no problem and keep an eye on what I have actually spent over time.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:11 pm
As a pastor and head of staff of a large Lutheran Congregation I live in and amongst piles of paper. Administratively I have receipts and invoices that I must review and keep copies of for the church. I have professional expenses that are personal as well as household receipts. Every meeting generally means 2-5 more pieces of paper to be filed. The variety of sizes has meant that first neat scanner (hand fed) is painfully slow and labor intensive. A neatdesk would restore order to my desk, reduce “paper time” and make me more efficient! The ability to take my files in my notebook computer would be indispensable. It would also reduce the need for copies and on this Earth Day - help save trees!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:12 pm
I am a paper keeping machine. I am always afraid of an audit and I even make copies of register receipts in case they fade. We have 2 small businesses and my one business requires me to order a lot of ingredients to make the products. Needless to say I have stacks of receipts. This becomes boxes of receipts that will no longer have to exist and more room for the cat. I can shred everything and recycle. Heck I could even use the shred for cat litter. GO GREEN!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:12 pm
This is such a great idea. I don’t think I have this excited to scan my receipts and get organized. Wow….guys…wow!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:12 pm
I use the one in the office for just about everything keeping DMV Records and much more, I have start redoing my filing system at home and finding that I am getting even more organzise than before. Neatdesk could help me do all this in a much more timely manner.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:12 pm
I have papers all over my desk; I have used all kinds of methods to get the desk under control. I have used a Tablet PC to try and not generate as many papers, but that did not work. I know that I need a way to keep the papers organized and under control. Your product looks like the best way for me to do this.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:12 pm
When the IRS stated they would accept photo copies of bills, I started scanning my bills. I then started scanning most of my bills and documents to ensure I have back-up information. When we travel, I keep a copy of all my medical information and travel documents scanned to a secured Flash Drive in the event of an emergancy. This desk unit would greatly make my life easier.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:13 pm
How awesome to leave my paper file cabinet behind!!!!!! No more bulky, unorganized paper!!!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:13 pm
Working for a green product company, we do our best to be paperless. We also like that there is less filing in the file room and the ability to retrieve most everything from our desktop! Now thats technology working for us!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:14 pm
I’ve tired other tools for receipt management but nothing compares to Neat for Mac. Thanks for not forgetting about macs, many companies still do.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:14 pm
I bought a NeatReceipts system in 2005 and it has been a great tool that has saved me time and paid for itself many times over. In previous roles I have purchased multiple units for the sales groups I have managed. NeatDesk would have a much bigger impact because I could have my entire office on my notebook and even sychronize my files across all my office locations. What a great tool for anyone who travels!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:14 pm
I wish I could say I have been paperless but I have not, although the NEAT Scanner product has been a help. NeatDesk would be a huge help to me in finishing what I started with the scanner. I have also been using the GTD (Getting Things Done) system and this would be a great complement to the system. Thanks for helping make it easier to work towards paperless!!!!!!!!! - John
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:14 pm
I love neatreceipts! I couldn’t do my taxes without it. It makes filling out the Scedule C form for my business so much easier. Neat Desk looks awesome!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:14 pm
My wife and I have downsized our home from almost 4,000 sq.ft. to 1,800 sq.ft. The Neatdesk system would greatly help us eliminate piles of documents that we no longer have room for.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:14 pm
I have your smaller Neat Receipts scanner and really appreciate the software updates and improvements that you have made in the last 12 months. It would be great to win a Neat desk!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:14 pm
I am a tax preparer and am required to keep copious amount of data for my clients; as well as keeping it for several years. In years past I have spent hours of time and so much money on files, file cabinets, paper, staplers, (you get the drift.) This year I borrowed Neat Receipts from my friend and have cut my work by more than half. Now, over 95% of all my files and documents are inside my computer, the file cabinets have been sold and most of the paper donated to a local charity. I feel like a winner already because of all the space, time and money I have saved.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:14 pm
Tax time was a breeze with Neat. Jenn Choi should be employee of the month! She is online and ontime with support issues.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:15 pm
I am the church treasurer and keeping my own paperwork and the church’s was a major hassle. With the scanner, I can scan a copy of every church document (financial or otherwise), index it and then shred the original. I have peace of mind that I have all documents and can now find them within seconds. I also use the PDF feature to PDF documents for our library information system. Board Minutes, financial statements, legal documents and all are immediately available and searchable.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:15 pm
I love this product, allows me to keep all my financial documents tighty without all the clutter!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:15 pm
I hope I win. I just got laid off and need to convert my work reference files to scanned electronic versions so I can recycle all this paper!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:15 pm
HELP! I am in need of organization! That is what the neat receipt will do for me - a mortgage broker. Paper is endless and my cabinets are full of files that need to become electronically stored. I own a neat scanner, but it is slow and cannot handle the mass volume generated. With the new laws in the industry, it becomes more vital to be organized and efficient. Becoming digital can same time, resources, treausres, and headaches of State and Federal laws.
Winning this contest will make me your #1 marketing person. Thanks the opportunity to grow with your company.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:15 pm
Being military and about to retire is would be nice to be able to keep those bills, the service record, medical records and just everyday paperwork electronically. I just got deployed to Iraq and the wife is trying to take care of the kids and do everything else by herself. I tried to get one before I left but everyone we talked with was out of stock. It would also make it easier for doing my collage homework by being able to scan the documents in to PDF files. There are 1001 ways I could use one. And most would eliminate so much wasted paper.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:15 pm
As a pastor of a local church I am concerned about our position regarding natural resources, even renewable ones. Therefore, I have loved the NeatWorks for Mac system. We are able to communicate paperlessly between myself, our Treasurer and Bookkeeper. It not only saves paper and consequently trees, but also time and energy. Keep up the good work.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:15 pm
We find it very useful for scanning EOBs and other medical receipts.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:15 pm
Neat receipts already allows me to recycle the stacks of reciepts that I used to keep (foolishly). Neat Desk looks like it would also allow me to scan testimonials that I receive so that I can post them on my website. Thank you for helping to keep my desk cleaner.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:16 pm
I am a one person CPA office. Last year I purchased your travel scanner. When I go to clients I scna their materials into my laptop and take the images with me. No more lugging around stacks of paper. With a Neat Desk, I could scan client documents immediately into my PC and store them for reference. So no more huge file cabinets. And it would cut down on postage as I would not have them to return at the completion of my engagement.
What a GREAT device.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:16 pm
We would use NeatDesk when visiting the many schools we develop websites for. Our goal is to help them go “green” through technology. By introducing them to the scanner and the software we believe we can have an influence on our schools reducing their paper usage. I currently am using the portable scanner and love it… would love to try out the desktop one
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:16 pm
Would be great to get my desk rid of all those little receipts that are gathering dusk, even as I type. Look forward to being able to scan multiple documents, instead of one at a time.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:16 pm
My mission is Turning Information Anxiety to Information Advantageâ„¢, and NeatDesk will help me and my clients take a huge leap forward in reducing papeer-based anxiety. Thanks very much for this technology!!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:16 pm
I already have the portable neat receipt scanner and love it. But would love the desk top version. Saves so much space not having to file so many papers anymore.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:16 pm
With the work daily, I collect business cards, forms and one page product advertisments. NeatDesk would be the prefered method to easily collect, organize and carry information in my laptop for quick recall.
We all look to find ways to minimize paper flow. To ease the collection, storing and organizing information such as sales reciepts, etc.
NeatDesk has the answer for today’s busy world!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:16 pm
With more and more reciepts being generated with thermal paper the chances of having a paper receipt when you need it 90 days or more down the road are getting less and less. With neat reciepts you will be able to scan in your store reciept and be able to produce a copy for warranty purposes 90 days or longer as often as you need one.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:16 pm
My husband and I own a small business. The amount of paperwork between estimates, insurance papers, receipts…. is unbelievable. I have tried for years to try and simplify things to cut down on the amount of papers but it has been difficult. We previously bought the simple Neat Receipts scanner, but it would take a seriously long time to scan them all one by one. I love the concept and welcome the thought of making life a little easier. I might even have more time to spend doing something other than paperwork!! It would especially help come tax time- all the receipts would be nice and neat in my computer!!! Halelujia!!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:16 pm
My wife doesn’t appreciate my piles of paper receipts, business cards, statements, etc. As much as I try to contain them, they spill over. I recently picked up the mobile scanner for when I travel, but the desk scanner would be awesome to clear the backlog of paper files from my life and make things quite a bit more organized. (And maybe make my wife happier… which is never a bad thing!!!)
Thanks for the opportunity to enter!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:16 pm
As a CPA and stay at home mom, I generate a lot of paper. I could really use the neat desk to help to eliminate the excessive paper that is laying around. I have so much paper and it would really help to clean out my drawers and get rid of the clutter that all the extra paper has created.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:16 pm
Oh, yeah, and don’t EVEN get me started on how expensive printer ink is, and the box full of empty cartridges I don’t feel right about putting in the trash, so it just keeps getting fuller every time I have to replace a cartridge, which is WAY too often, and WAY too costly!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:17 pm
My filing system is so cluttered and I am running out of storage space. I definitely could use NeatDesk to unclutter my life, and migrate to electronic storage.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:17 pm
The neat desk would sure come in handy to get everything into our Business computer system so that my husbands office space wouldn’t have papers all over his drafting board as well as on the floor. If we had the NeatDesk our time in organizing our Business would sure be easier as well as greener. And trust me I am always looking for receipts for my husband when he needs to bill a client or return things and this NeatDesk would allow us both to be more efficient in running our Coporation. We could also use it to keep track of the receipts we deal with in our Non-Profit Religious Television station we do books for each year.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:17 pm
I believe Neat Desk would be wonderful for me because I use a ream of paper a week, and sometimes two with all the books, edits, rewrites, proofs, etc. I could use this system to become more organized and streamline our submission process.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:18 pm
This would be such a wonderful gift to receive. I just started my own photography business and need to organize my receipts so my tax accountant doesn’t get upset with me. Pick me pretty please

Also great to have all important documents filed for easy access.
Its great

I love to scan receipts and have them available to sort and save when I can get to it with the new software. I use Quicken, so it’s easy to find receipts when I need to categorize them. Again, most of this is ON THE GO! I back up to an external hard drive, and I keep the back up on-site in a firesafe giving me confidence that I will have my records even if disaster strikes…like the tornadoes that hit middle TN a week or so ago!! And I have taken my boxes of saved papers/receipts to the recycling center clearing up much-needed storage space! It has revolutionized my life! Thanks!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:18 pm
We have a NeatReceipt now and LOVE it!…. But I’ve often thought it would be so much nicer to have the desktop scanner rather than the standard one. NeatReceipt ROCKS!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:18 pm
I have almost wore the unit out. Hope I win!!!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:18 pm
Running a new record company, and I need all the help running it as I can get. So this would really be a boon.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:18 pm
We use the Neat scanner for food recipes. We catagorize the recipes using a program called Living Cookbook. Before, my wife had her recipes scattered everywhere and was having trouble finding them. Now she has them all categorized on the computer and can print them out as needed.
The Neat scanner can be plugged into the USB pot as needed. It uses the USB port as it’s power source making it easy to connect and disconnect. The Neat scanner takes up very little space on the desk. It’s conveniently sized to fit in a laptop carrying case. My home premium Vista program recognizes it immediately whenever I plug it in.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:18 pm
With the work daily, I collect business cards, forms and one page product advertisements. NeatDesk would be the preferred method to easily collect, organize and carry information in my laptop for quick recall.
We all look to find ways to minimize paper flow. To ease the collection, storing and organizing information such as sales receipts, etc.
NeatDesk has the answer for today’s busy world!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:18 pm
To the good folks at The Neat Company:
I own a life insurance agency outside of Chicago, IL, and have recently just purchased a NeatDesk for my business. I LOVE IT!! We have already scanned more than 500 files and now have recycled all of that paper. (Only another three full filing cabinets to go!). Recently, we’ve started setting up Electronic Files ONLY, which saves us paper and toner , and ultimately saves my agency money. Again, my sincere “Thanks” to you and your company for such a fine product…I would recommend the NeatDesk to anyone.
I would LOVE to have one of these NeatDesk scanners at my house, so we could electronically store all of our important documents at home - bills, great test scores my kids bring home from school, etc… - without storing boxes of paper in the basement. Further, it would be great way to show my kids (10 & 5) another very simple way to save our planet.
Thank you for your consideration. Kris Smith.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:18 pm
Excellent way to cut down on wasting paper and trying to find a document. I’d love to have one!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:18 pm
The peace of mind this program gives me is tremendous. I love the idea of copying all the receipts into the program so that I will have a back-up of our work. I am also impressed with the fact that I can put this information I gather into Quick Books. Now I can clearly know where my money is going. Probably, the best feature for me is being able to sort my receipts by tax area and able to be able fill out taxes in less time. This is what computing is supposed to be, and Neat Receipts has made my computer a useful hunk of metal and wires. Thanks Neat Receipts.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:18 pm
I have NeatReceipts for Mac and PC so that I can scan EVERYWHERE! I have totally been wanting to invest in NeatDesk, especially the one for Mac. Our media company has a goal to have at least a NeatReceipts scanner on everyone’s desk by the end of the year. And who knows, maybe even a NeatDesk with all the money we are saving by staying green!
Winning a free one would really help us get started
Neat Company rocks!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:19 pm
Just purchased the portable scanner and Neat software for business travel. I wish I had purchased years ago when it was first introduced ( I saw at airport Kiosk). Anyway, the way these two products interact (portable scanner with specialized software) have changed my life are incredible. I get back from a day’s worth of appointments and receipts and whooosshhh they are all in computer within 5 minutes. In another five they are organized and filed in Quickbooks….thank you so much Neat!!! I now have more free time to do other things :>)!! I am very much looking forward to adding a desk scanner in the home office once I can afford one to make home as efficient as being on the road.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:19 pm
I am trying to imagine my desk without any papers, little receipts and clutter - this unit would make that happen!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:19 pm
I am using neat receipts to eliminate store receipts but it isn’t so useful for other papers. Neat desk will solve this problem for me.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:20 pm
I have a small business and run it by myself. This would allow me to keep all my receipts, etc. filed on my computer with little effort. I would not have a lot of time-consuming data entry that I don’t have time to do.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:20 pm
I have been working on eliminating all the paper for the past four months. Neat Receipts is easy to use and it is great for putting items in folders/categories. Next years taxes will be a snap. I only wish that this had been invented decades ago!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:20 pm
I have the smaller scanner that is wonderful for travel. The combo of that with the clever software offers a big improvement in file organization..
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:20 pm
I would greatly benefit from neatdesk, I already have neat receipts, and appreciate storing receipts electronically. It would be a dream come true to file all my statements, daughter’s school work, etc. I would be able to rid of my filing cabinet once and for all. Reduce clutter, and breath easier. I tell everyone about my little neat receipts scanner, as it is. I would boast about the neatdesk, if I would win it!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:20 pm
Your hardware and software is great. The ability to import PDFs into the software allows me to receive statements electronically - thus saving paper and helping the Earth. GO NEAT Receipts!!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:20 pm
I have used the older Windows version and absolutely love it! I recently purchased a MAC and had to install Windows operating system just so I could continue using NeatDesk. This is an application that really does what it advertises. I highly recommend it to anyone, and I do often. Have just not been able to purchase the MAC version as of yet. Would love to win it!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:20 pm
You should see the filing cabinets full of paper that some teachers have. Some teachers have worksheets and reference materials from the late 1900s;). NeatReciepts for Mac has allowed me shred and recycle the paper, get rid of filing cabinets and create more learning spaces for my students.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:20 pm
I found NeatReceipts, now NeatDesk, in the SkyMall magazine. I bought it, and my records management has been much, much easier ever since. Trying to keep paper sorted and organized is quite a chore and requires labels, binders, folders, dividers, etc. With NeatDesk, I scan an item in and organize it on my computer, without all of those office supplies. AND!!, if I want to reorganize it, I can very, very easily. And those small, ever-fading receipts are not like dust bunnies running all over my office. We scan them in, then grind ‘em up. Yeah, NeatDesk and Neat Company!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:21 pm
NeatDesk has saved my life!!! As a busy and stressed out mom (who also works from home), I now have total clutter-free organization in my house and life! Taxes are going to be a breeze at the end of the year. I scan everything now!! I scan every receipt and biz card and document. Seriously, this has been the BEST purchase ever. NeatDesk is easy to use and is absolutely revolutionary. I have zero clutter and more free time! And now I am more relaxed and can enjoy my home and time with family. Thank you!!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:21 pm
I dread the question: Can you produce the receipt for that item to be reimbursed?
I begin to wrack my brain to remember in which folder the receipt is located, and then the next question: Where is the folder? Was it lost in a flood? Did I throw it away in an organizational fit? Time begins to pass by as I wander around my house and my garage looking in closets, cupboards, and drawers.
A NeatDesk would certainly begin to ease my brain strain. What would really help is inclusion of a organization genie in the box with the NeatDesk. But maybe that is in the next version…
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:21 pm
Gotta have it! My wife is starting a new ministry from our home, we have 3 kids, lots of paper, way too many receipts and our home office looks like a paper bomb went off … not a pretty sight. I own the mac version of NeatReceipts - love it and use it for my ministry but we need an upgrade to a more powerful solution at home.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:21 pm
I already use the Neat Receipts Scanner to make my expense reports. I travel a lot and the portability is great. It allows me to send expense reports from the road so I never miss a deadline. Plus, the ability to export directly into Excel is invaluable!
I would love a Neat Desk scanner so that I could do a better job of following up with contacts I make on the road. I find that my business cards end up in stacks on the desk rather than getting processed, if I had the Neat Desk I could just load them and scan multiples at a time rather than one by one.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:21 pm
I have always needed a solution for keeping records for my wife’s travels for work and also for our house(we move a lot) that the IRS will accept in place of paper. This is truly the answer for that problem and for any other paper receipt trail that could be needed.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:21 pm
In contruction everything is about cover yourself in writing. Confirm, confirm, confirmation, confirmation. With NeatDesk, I could drastically cut down on the paperwork & keep everthing in electronic files.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:21 pm
I use my NeatWorks every day. It saves me an immense amount of time, money and space. I scan in all my receipts for business. I have them in one place where I can easily view them and review if necessary. This alone has eliminated many “hassles” from my life. It aids with my taxes, as well.
I’ve saved space and money by eliminating the need for costly and space consuming file cabinets, as I scan all my documents.
Furthermore, I’ve always worried about what would happen if my computer was damaged/destroyed in a catastrophe. Now I simply back up all my documents, using NeatWorks, to an external hard drive which I can put in a safe place.
Thank you, thank you!!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:21 pm
I have been looking for an easy way to organize the tons of paper lying in my office for years. I have tried everything. Filing cabinets, drawers, etc., but to no avail.
Finally a friend of mine told me about Neatdesk, and how it has facilitated and organized his business and personel life.
I am extremely anxious on getting one, as I am all about trying to get a grip on my business and my office. This sounds like a must have for any business owner out there, who is serious about being in control again.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:21 pm
When I saw this great tool I was so impressed I made a point of telling my husband as soon as he walked in. Wow, imagine all the recipts scanned, filed and the info can be sent directly to your accounting platform. With taxes just done- I wished this had been there to help with them. A small business has enough to address without that ’stuff’ for IRS. Save time and trees! great!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:21 pm
My original intent with a NeatDesk was to convert my paper documents into a file to email. I also wanted to keep track of my business expenses since I use cash for alot of my business expenses. Since then, I have tried to scan everything to get the paper out of my house! I am a disciple of Neat Company. I have sold two agents in my office to get on the Neat Desk bandwagon, and they call me a hero. This tax season, I was talking to my accountant about your products and he plans on getting as many clients as possible to get one. His major driver for this system is to protect the data on the receipts. He has worked with clients tax documents on magnetic receipts which have faded within the year. If you need to pull them up later, they get worse. I hope this will lead to more sales of your product. Thanks for developing this!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:21 pm
At the entry way of my apartment, I would have a small box and custom wallmount set up for my mail. This would link to the server in my home that runs the NeatDesk software.
On the wall-mount is the NeatDesk scanner. Underneath it, a paper shredder and wastebasket.
Mail goes in. Scans. Goes directly from my front door to digital format. Paper (credit card statement, bank statement, etc.) gets shredded and gets recycled! Since it’s at the door, it’s easy to take out for the recycling guys to pick up.
I might even have a second one networked at the desk itself for other forms or documents that do not arrive by the mail.
The result? No paper clutter. Privacy. Less worry about identity theft. My data is backed up regularly online and to storage contained in a fire-proof box. And it all gets recycled in the end..
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:22 pm
NeatReceipts is wonderful, and NeatDesk would be even better to help manage the growing mound of paperwork on my desk!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:22 pm
Neatreceipts helps me keep important documents organized, including receipts, tax information, and veterinarian records for my dog. When I take my dog somewhere (a contest or dog activity) and they want proof of rabies vaccinations, I can just find it in my file and print it off instead of being stressed about going through stacks of paper. I also use it to scan just about anything else (coupons) instead of using the scanner. I would love to have a Mac one though, because I recently got a new Mac and have been mainly using it instead of my old PC.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:22 pm
NeatDesk is the answer to all my organization problems! Plus, it would help me get all the paperwork clutter off my workspace so I could be more productive with my actual work rather than digging through piles of papers.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:23 pm
Picked up a small unit for travel and just love it. Need a desk unit in the office just to get rid of more paper.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:23 pm
I have heard about neat receipts but haven’t used it. Sounds like neat desk is even better and I would’nt need to keep so much paper around. I recycle so that would be a good thing.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:23 pm
This would be a great way to keep me paperless. I switched to NeatWorks for the MAC and love it. Dragging and dropping the information is a breeze much easier than the PC version. NeatDesk would be a terrific way to organize every piece of paper I have.
During tax time I just selected what I needed and printed it out and entered it all on my tax forms. You can’t beat it’s performance.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:23 pm
I purchased the NeatReceipt product for my wife. She handles all the bills for us. It would take her hours to balance the checkbook and reconcile the receipts with the credit card statement. In the past she would keep every receipt and statement. We had boxes (like 12) full of old paperwork. She was very wary of changing her processes. Once she began using the scanner and software, she instantly became hooked. Now she spends an hour maybe to do what used to take hours thanks to the NeatReceipt software.. We are being more green now than before because after scanning everything we shred it and then recycle it rather than letting it collect dust in a box under our bed. It makes her job of filing taxes a breeze. With NeatReceipt she can quickly and easily pull up all the information she needs. She would never go back to the old way of doing things. Thank you NeatReceipt for giving my wife and I hours to spend together!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:23 pm
We do most of our business online - but our vendors send us packing slips, invoices and other literature regularly. What happens is that we don’t like to get rid of any critical paperwork that we “might” refer to one day in the future. That results in piles and file folders filled with these things. We really need the help that NeatDesk would provide us - to wrestle this paper tiger to the confines of a hard drive - and keep him under control. I await your email - and hope that I don’t get lost in the paperwork here!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:24 pm
As a sales person I come into contact with paper quite a lot but have resisted taking or using any of it. My attitude is pretty much “if you can’t get it to me electronically, I don’t want it” Two things stand in my way of achieving a paperless office, expense receipts and business cards. I use a Mac and up till now A good solution has not been available. If I don’t win one here I’ll have to buy one…
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:24 pm
I currently own the portable model. This is a Great product !! Not only can I now throw away all my receipts, It also helps in my Tax calculation for the year end. Very easy to use and convinient.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:24 pm
I own 1 neat Desk and 1 Neat Receipts and adopted this product and technology at the early stages when it was Neat Receipts, I want to say 4 or 5 years ago to reduce the amount of paper and receipts that we acquire and collect working in a Visual Communication Design Studio. This saves us tremendous time and storage issues. We are going back through 10 years of records and scanning all documents and receipts through Neat Desk. It will tkae time, but its well worth it. Neat Desk is a wonderful tool. Something we could not function without and we wonder how we did it before this. Every company, in fact, every household, should have one of these
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:24 pm
Truly an engineering and productivity marvel!! What I originally thought was a product designed simply to keep more organized is really so much more than that!! Yes, it does keep me ORGANIZED…but it also keeps my data SAFE by allowing digital images to be backed up and stored appropriately. It also SAVES me a lot of MONEY because I use so much less paper and ink…copying, printing, filing, etc.
When is the IPO?
I would love to buy stock in NeatReceipts!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:24 pm
I currently use NeatReceipts (older generation of your product) and love it. I travel for business every week and use your product all the time to organize and git rid of the paper clutter. NeatDesk looks awesome!! By allowing you to load receipts, business cards, full page receipts all in one batch will save a bunch of time.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:24 pm
The most important use of Neat’s Scanner is preparing for your Federal Tax Filings for that dreadful “April 15th Filing date”. It is just a “Gift in Life” to own one. The whole Neat process saves you time, makes your filing more accurate and just saves you you from over looking deductible expenses. It organizes the whole Bookkeeping process. Its just “Neat”.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:24 pm
I’m trying to be paperless but failing miserably. I wanted to attach a picture to this blog of my desk with the comment ” ’nuff said”. That really tells the story. I clean a lot of paper off my desk each month but within days am buried again. As a one person business I can’t keep up with the filing, accounting and other administrative duties. If I try to keep it in order, it comes at the cost of sales. I spend more time searching for long lost pieces of paper and receipts than I do selling. The world is going paperless and I can’t keep up.
H H EEEEE L PPPP !!!
H H E L P P !!!
H H E L P P !!!
HHHH EEEEE L PPPP !!!
H H E L P !!!
H H E L P
H H EEEEE LLLLL P !!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:24 pm
Neat Reciept products are outstanding. We have one of the original scanners and Being in the real estate business it has helped me keep all my contracts easy and acessable at all time by email and helped me set up a virtual office. I cant tell you how much it has helped me with the business reciepts for my taxes ( my accountant loves me!). It has helped me organize my entire business as well as my personal business what a time saver. I could use the NeatDesk badly as my business has grown and the one scanner is great but not as good as the desk would help! It would vastly help me organize as my business rises to the next level. I also have raved about it so much several realtor friends have bought the scanner also as well two of my mortgage reps and some clients. it would be a perfect gift to my husband that handles all my office paperwork!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:24 pm
I am a consultant and have used the travel scanner for years. It saves the significant time required to enter hand written notes, business cards and receipts. I could not imagine doing business without my travel scanner. We have several scanners in the office, but i only use the one from NeatReceipts and sits on my desk.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:25 pm
With all the paper my family has stored, I can personally guarentee a Sasquatch-sized footprint reduction on the environment! I need the Neatdesk.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:25 pm
I’m most likely going to be getting this anyways in the next few months to help me stay on top of all my expenses and documents, so it would be great to get it for free!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:25 pm
I currently own the Mac version of your NeatReceipts software and scanner. I previously had the PC version which I gave to my parents. The neat desk for us would provide a much more robust scanning solution compared to the smaller scanner as we recently moved to a new city and have much less room than before. I find that the small scanner is a little harder to use and the desktop version would work out much better, especially for large amounts of bills. I have 8 years of old files that I would LOVE to get into electronic format, but the small scanner just wouldn’t cut it. The Neat Desk would totally rock my world!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:25 pm
I have been an avid user for all our receipts (business and personal) for a couple of years now. I recently have been using the scanner to “save” our old photos to reduce clutter and stuff around. I love how well the scanner works!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:25 pm
I need this more than you know! As an ADD adult, I stuggle daily with the loads of paper, business cards and receipts that come across my desk everyday. The other issue is that no matter how well I keep up with my filing, I am running out of storage space and what I need is always almost impossible to find. This product would change my life and I know my accountant would be very happy!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:25 pm
I have been using Neatreceipts for Windows and I made the switch to Neatworks for Mac. I work in a virtual office and I couldn’t get by without it. Neatworks allows me to be truly paperless. From customer documents to expense report receipts, Neatworks allows me to take my entire office with me wherever I go. Next up, scan and submit my reimbursement for my Flexible Spending Account. Even my wife has begun to ask me to scan and save reference documents for everything from healthcare to our child’s school records.
What do I do when it’s all done? Recycle the office paper. No files, no trash. I am far more organized and I am getting all that paper into the recycled paper market.
With the free Neatdesk that I expect to win, I will be able to scan faster and more effectively, saving time, energy, and aggravation. Thanks in advance!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:25 pm
I use this scanner along with my laptop. I can scan in documents that have just been signed and then attach it to my email and out it goes - to the receiver and in my database. I love how sleak it is and that it fits in my laptop bag.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:25 pm
My Neat Receipts saved my life(and wallet)at tax time this year. Now if I can go paperless without losing my grasp on things, especially sanity, I’m ready to “Let Go!” I even may become acquainted with the other people who live here…I think they are my Family… Great day for a Neat Desk giveaway. I hope everyone blogging here gets one.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:25 pm
This would be a dream come true! I have been doing research for about 5 years now and have all kinds of paperwork piling up. I constantly have to back track through all of it and it has become an unorganized nightmare. I have not been able to afford the type of scanners that can accomidate a large capacity. I would be so appreicative to win such an excellent reward.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:26 pm
I just got the NeatWorks for the Mac software, and can’t wait to use it this weekend! I’m going to scan in about 20 to 30 years of receipts. I really could use the NeatDesk scanner!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:26 pm
Thank you for the Win-Win solution. I am a business owner who collects many reciepts. All we need is a workflow to perform efficiently and this sounds like the answer! Hope I am spreading the good word of Neatreceipts soon!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:26 pm
I have used my NeatReceipts scanner to digitize every record, receipt, invoice, warranty, etc. for years now. I like that they are a company who were “green” long before it was fashionable to be green. If I win this one? I’d do the green thing and give my old one to my friend so she can reduce her paper piles like I have.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:26 pm
This has to be the best thing ever invented. I would love to just come home every day and put my receipts, invoices, contracts, other documents that I would normally file (but never do) into the Neat Desk and let it do its thing. I’ve been using the smaller NeatReceipts scanner and it does a great job, but the NeatDesk would definitely uplevel my efficiency and peace of mind.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:26 pm
I have neatdesk software which I use with my own scanner, but would really excel with a full Neatdesk to quickly decrease the clutter of paper. Going digital is the best, with the ability to quickly scan receipts into my computer, and be able to find the receipts by database.
Neatdesk would make my everyday paper clutter disappear.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:26 pm
I would love to go paperless at my house! It would eliminate paper clutter and eliminate time when I’m trying to search through stacks of paper for one thing. Thank you for making this product! I hope I win!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:26 pm
I was the ultimate paper packrat. I have boxes upon boxes of receipts that I thought I should keep. After much thoughtful prodding to clean out this accumulation, I purchased NeatReceipts and am now able to save what I want and shred the paper. I am about 85% to being paperless, a NeatDesk would get me the rest of the way and speed up my paperless environment.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:26 pm
I own Neat Receipts and love the portable usage when I need it out of the office for events. Also, my receipts for taxes have always faded and then do me no good. This product helps to keep it organized and then I have it all in one place! Same with business cards. The NeatDesk would be a nice addition to the office at home and larger amounts of paperwork. Love this product! Life made easier!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:26 pm
Neat Receipts is awesome!!! It has allowed me to not only clear my desk, but keeps all of my business receipts and documents organized, especially when tax time rolls around. All of our personal documents are taken care of also. We no longer have piles and piles of paper all over the place.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:27 pm
I would love a Neat Desk. The idea of carrying less paper and streamlining my workflow might add years to my life!
I’d love to be able to digitally store all my invoices.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:27 pm
My desk is clutter with a lot of paper work for my business (invoices, receipts, notes, P&L’s)etc. This would be a dream come true to conveniently and successfully condense my paper work to one location.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:27 pm
My office life is necessarily a bit papery but I try to minimize paper use where ever I can! My Neat Receipts scanner simplifies the processes I have to engage in to track travel and hospitality reimbursements and all right at my desk. What is great about scanning at the desk is creating e-copies of my employer’s travel forms and other items I would have to be filing as paper before. Also, being able to capture the numeric content of receipts and other documents has been a treat.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:27 pm
I’ve had mine for about 6 months. I work from my home (accounting & taxes)and I’m slowly cleaning out my files & recycling the paper. I loved mine so much that I bought my son-in-law one for Christmas. I have trained my husband to run his receipts thru when he gets home. I have my laptop in the kitchen so he can do it when he walks in the door. I have been paperless in my business and partially in my personal life for the past 6 years. Love it!!!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:27 pm
NeatDesk and the new Desktop Scanner is many, many, many times better than NeatReceipts with the old Portable Scanner. The Desktop scanner has separate slots for multiple copies of business cards, receipts and documents which keep them aligned is much faster. I also have a 64 bit quadprocessor laptop which scans the receipts and docs as fast as I load the hopper. If you do alot of filing, NeatDesk and the Desktop Scanner saves a multitude of time and frustration, is more versatile and processes “cleaner” images. Great one two punch for home and business.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:27 pm
Digitize everything. Forget nothing.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:27 pm
My neat receipts has really been benefical when traveling. I travel internationally for work and it helps keep me organized and avoid losing receipts on long trips. It reduces the amount of time to be expensed because I just email my report to the corporate office. I have found this to be a great device being the fact that I work from a remote office. We are all evolving to a greener world and Neat is doing their job to reduce the unwanted paper. I have turned my mom onto this device and she is all about organization. Thank you Neat!

I LOVE my Neat Receipts scanner. I save far to much paper, and love the ability to scan documents, Business Cards and receipts. I can do a quick search and find exactly what I’m looking for in minutes instead of the hours it used to take looking through reams of paper.
I recently needed to send some receipts to my Mom while she was vacationing in Florida–by mail it could have taken a week or so, with Neat Receipts, she had the PDF’s in less than 1 minute.
I tell everyone I know that they need one.
Let’s start today (Earth Day) to make this a greener, paperless world. When everyone does a little bit, we can make a BIG difference!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:28 pm
If the new Neat Desk will really segregate files into the approprate library and allow this file to be later reproduced and sent as fax or email, then it would be a great addition. I have been wishing that one could do this utilizing the power of the computer, but have not been very successful with the scanning device that I presently utilize. And if this can also segregate multiple receipts and or documents as part of the effiiency of the scanning process, I sure would be one happy camper!!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:28 pm
i bury my desk under piles of paper…and I mean BURY!! I have a small business and have to track receipts, reference forms. price sheets and many other documents that we use internally.
I envsion scanning all these into my computer system and filing the original in one big box that will get dumped, shredded or disposed of at some point. I could also transfer my backup to my other computers and have copies on all the systems I used at home and work (also handy in case of data loss at one pc). Thanks for making a “neat” and useful product!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:28 pm
I hate filing and this system rocks, becasue after you scan your paper work in, you SHRED IT, never to be seen or touched again! I LOVE IT!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:28 pm
I travel extensively with my job and have depended upon NeatReceipts for some time. Being able to catalog everything else with NeatDesk at home would be an incredible increase in productivity and convenience.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:28 pm
I already use the NeatReceipts Scanalizer for personal use. It works great for keeping track of credit card receipts. When I get the credit card statement, verifying all charges are correct is a breeze. The NeatDesk would work great for my business. It would make matching vendor invoices to vendor statements at month end a much smoother process. And freeing up the space that keeping paper records for 7+ years takes up would be great!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:28 pm
The need for efficiency, organization and NeatDesk became apparant when my office became mobile. Not only do I now work over 2500 miles from my home office, I get to my work sites via bushplane and backpack. Since everything has to fit in a packpack, not having to transport paper and documents is a big thing. Digital media is also more weather proof than paper.
I’d love to put this to the test and keep life simple, organized and accessible.
Thanks!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:28 pm
I already try to scan all my receipts and organize them into files, but it is a slow and cumbersome process. Neat desk would streamline and organize much better than I have been doing manually. It sounds like the perfect solution for me!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:28 pm
Thanks to the portable NeatWorks scanner we are now able to control the mountains of paper work (invoices & receipts). Most importantly we are very quickly able to find what we require by doing a quick search and the NeatWorks software is quickly able to locate our receipt or pdf document. Thanks for helping us take control of our paperwork storage solutions.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:28 pm
Hi, I currently use the software to electronically capture and file all of my business cards. It’s great as it allows me to have a copy on my laptop as well as my iphone. Its a great product that has saved me from days and days of two finger data entry. Should i be lucky enough to be one of the ten winners today I will match the prize value in either carbon credits or by purchasing trees as one my contributions to back to the earth, the other would be using the software and scanner to reduce the paper in the office. Happy earth day and remember that change starts with just one person - YOU…..
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:29 pm
With business cards piling up, paper invoices filed in different folders, old receipts hard to find and paper documents untraceable, it is becoming truly hard to find any information or get easy access to my paper materials. The neat desk could make my life easier, less stressful, help me in being more organized, gain access to any info I need in seconds, use less physical space and ultimately reduce my expenses, but most importantly make me more GREEN conscious and earth friendlier
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:29 pm
Owning a small financial services firm,we can generate tremendous amounts of paper because of regulations and the number of duplicates we need to keep and send to our broker/dealer. For the past three years I have been committed to reducing our usage of paper by scanning documents, scanning copies of Driver’s licenses, etc. and have utilized neat receipts for part of that process. What I have found is that I need to have several scanning machines to take care of the different types of documents that I need to keep. This creates a lot of clutter. If I could use one machine in the office, the neat desk, and continue to use my neat receipt scanner when I am at a client’s place of business, it would allow me to reduce my clutter of machines and wires in the office and improve my productivity. Since I work out of my home, this would also make my family happy.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:29 pm
Being a recruiter, I am inundated with resumes. Resumes, resumes, resumes in every shape, color, font, paper, style. We attend approximately 4 recruiting events per month and collect approximately 500 resumes from job seekers. HELP!! Travel back and forth between these events can be cubmersome when you are packing reams of paper, and shipping them back. Not to mention the manpower needed to key these in, and stand at a scanner/copier and feed them in.
NEATDESK = SOLUTION! Resumes are scanned onsite at the conference, and shredded - saves on fuel emmissions from delivery drivers picking it up, and then processing the package and then flying it back to the office, and then another delivery truck delivering. Not to mention, the sanity savings to recruiter. Less packing around of paper would lead to recruiters ability to slide through the airport with less baggage (less weight on the plane….see where I am going with this?)…then they would not have to drive to the chiroprator from lugging the heavy weight, and they would not have to drive to the local happy hour to de-stress from having to lug around all of the materials…again…see where I am going??
NEATDESK = Resumes - Bulk - Stress - Paper - Manpower - Carbon Emmissions - Depletion of Fossil Fuels - Deterioration of the Ozone…it all goes together, all with acquiring one NEATDESK for one lonely recruiter.

As an educational advocate for children with disabilities, NeatDesk for Mac sounds like a virtual assistant that could free up hours of my time for more thinking tasks. Lovely. With each client I need to review, analyze and store hundreds of documents; some two-sided, some 50 page packets, some single notes, but all quickly and with logic so I can find them again, and keep client costs low. To have one sharp-looking gadget like this would automate about half of the up-front necessary tasks that are required to be effective. Thanks NeatPeople, for inventing such a thing.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:29 pm
I preach the virtues of cleanliness, but I am sitting at a desk awash with scraps of paper crying out for organization. I am convicted. Yet I lack the financial resources to clear the clutter. Looking forward to rescue….
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:29 pm
I recently applied for a home loan and as the final docs were about ready to sign, my lender asked to prove ownership of certain items I sold to come up with my down payment. It took 2 seconds to find the receipts, thanks to NeatReceipts! Something that would have taken 2 weeks, took less than a minute to find. You can’t beat it. I have recommended it to everyone I know. I even bought one for my mom for Xmas. I can’t even imagine how cool it would be to have a NeatDesk.
I love you Neat Company.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:29 pm
The neat receipt is the best thing since sliced bread, anyone having a business needs the neat receipt. Everything is paperless when it comes to tax time you have it all on your computer.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:30 pm
I already have a Neat Receipts and I love it…but I would love a Neat Desk to sheet feed and switch my office over to paperless. I hate having to have files upon files of useless notes and memos!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:30 pm
NeatDesk is a wonder product that makes it easy to file and search for documents. It has reduced the paper that I need to file and it is easy at Tax time to recall for filing.
I have used it for several years and I’m satisfied with the performance.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:30 pm
I have been using neat works(portable) for the past 6 months and it has made a tremendous difference in my business. Being a realtor I have to keep records of everything and in using neat works I am able to keep an electronic (paperless) version of my documents safely. It saves on valuable office space and unnecessary use of paper thereby saving the trees and our environment. Happy Earth Day.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:30 pm
NeatReceipts is just plain “neat” and keeps me neat. I’m a contract consultant and “road warrior” traveling 90% for my job, so I need to submit receipts to my clients for reimbursement. My last contract accepted expense reports and receipts electronically; NeatReceipts was the perfect solution. I am able to separate and categorize my personal from my business receipts and can quickly identify how much is owed me. I was even able to instantly provide another copy of a receipt the company “lost.” Since the scanner is small and lightweight, it fits easily in my computer bag for when I travel, so it’s always with me. The extra benefits of the scanner is that I can scan and sort business cards and important documents. Needless to say, it has cut down on the paper I have to drag around with me and eliminates the chance of losing that important receipt or contact. I LOVE my scanner; it’s an integral part of operating my business and I would be lost without it.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:30 pm
Recently closing my business, I have cases of business documents now at home, that I need to save for several years. Having a NeatDesk scanner would help me eliminate the need to save all these documents. I have had a chance to use the Neat Receipts 4.0 scanner and it is fantastic. Plain and simple NEAT CO. Rocks.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:30 pm
Buried in paperwork. Would so live to dig out, go digital, and save many trees.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:30 pm
I bought the portable system to organize my rebates. It is great to be able to have easy access to rebates that I have sent and track them back to when they come in. This has saved MANY trees!! I am beginning to track all of my personal credit card expenses and budget my spending.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:30 pm
I have always wanted to go paperless. I recently purchased NeatRecipts for the Mac and love it! As I’ve recently started my own business the NeatDesk would come it handy. I’m a photographer and not a office person. I need all the help I can get to stay organized now and at tax time. Thanks Neat guys for your products!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:30 pm
I am an Ex …. scan user. I too purchased the travel scanner. Boy what was I missing before having aquired this . The scanner works flawlessly. I have taken my many, many, many, piles of of papers and have been able to organize them for my accounting as well as and most importantantly for tracking my sales processes. I now couldn’ be as effective without it. I am able to take it into clients offices and scan my sales orders or if there is a problem invoice, etc. and providing immediate service to the customer. This has been an AWESOME product. Imagine the possibility of having one just for my office !!! WOW !!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:31 pm
I purchased NeatReceipts, not having much hope that it would solve my paper problems. However, I find myself using it constantly. It’s an excellent scanner, great quality, and when I have PDF files to create, it’s a breeze. My customers have wowed the scan quality and I get paid faster. I’m happy! Thanks for a great product.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:31 pm
I work on the road and don’t have space for all the paperwork and papers that are needed to be filed working away from home. This neatdesk would be a great assist in cutting out the paperwork jungle generated from working out of town. I have shoeboxes full of receipts that I would love to throw away, but keep them for tax purposes. Please take my paper nightmare away and make my taxes less stressful.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:31 pm
Help! I still haven’t done my 2008 Taxes because my receipts and records are all in piles, folders or boxes. I desperately need the NeatDesk Unit to wade through all of this and help get me organized.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:31 pm
I have been using the Neat scanners for a few years now. I now use the Neat desk to scan all of my financial documents. Also scanning in documents that I need to send to others as PDF documents so I do not have to make paper copies.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:31 pm
The small Neat Receipt Scandilizer is an item that I have used for years on my desk. When I leave the house it goes in the carry bag that came with the Scandilizer and then into the Laptop bag.
I use it to scan all of the receipts for my small business. The receipts then have to be sent via upload or e-mail expense reports. It is so easy to do either because the receipts, documents and Business Cards are organized.
The larger Neat Desk would be great for the desk top Computer.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:31 pm
We have purchase two of the neat scanners and it has made a big difference in our filling system We must keep copies of all purchases for the available for review by liquor control board at any given time. Now when they ask for documentation of Liquor in the store we have the documentation at hand at the touch of a button and don’t have to wade through file cabinets of paper receipts. We are looking at getting a third unit to have at home also because it would really help keep track of all the paper that goes with home ownership.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:31 pm
I picked up Neat Receipts for my office and I can actually see me desk again. I emptied out one draw of files and my business card holder. This thing is great! I can’t wait to start using the receipt options of the program. I recommend this product to anyone who needs an easy to use electronic filing system. Can’t wait to pick up another one for home use.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:31 pm
I have your small travel unit that I use both when traveling and at my home office. NeatDesk would allow my wife and child to go paperless as well.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:31 pm
I have hundreds of receipts to go through when I file taxes. The Neat Company of products lets me scan them in and throw them away. Once they are scanned in electronically, I can sort them by tax category and print out a list of what I can deduct easily. Also, all those thermal reciepts that fade over time, never fade once they are scanned in…… Great product and a real time saver……..
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:31 pm
How NeatWorks has changed my life and impacted the environment. I travel a lot for work purposes, and in doing so, I also accumulate many many expense receipts. During my travels, receipts tend to get “lost”, and I lose this money as I can not expense receipts that I no longer have. I purchased NeatWorks while on a business trip in Arkansas. I discovered that I can scan my receipts to my computer while in the hotel room each night. This made it much easier to manage my expenses, and in turn, get reimbursed! It also allows me to shred my expense receipts when I return from my trip, which are then sent to the recycling company! NeatWorks has helped my wallet, and the environment! And to boot, my co-workers were so impressed, that they bought their own NeatWorks for themselves!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:32 pm
I have a portable unit that is awesome in its ability to to reduce my clutter. I scan everything and put it on disk. Thanks for the machine.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:32 pm
We have a household goal for 2009 — paper free! NeatDesk makes this fun and easy. Anything that can’t be downloaded online is immediately scanned and added to the family docs.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:32 pm
I think the NeatDesk is an awesome way to keep ‘green’. I am using the neat receipts right now and it allows me to keep my receipts in electronic form but yet recycle the paper the receipt is printed on! Paper recycling is in its infancy and needs more help from others, this idea would revolutionize recyclying as it would allow people do have and yet not have, have their information but not have the paper waste of having to keep it. Also allowing clean desk policies which increase productivity and attitudes!
Keep up the good work, i think this would be a godsend for me and would also teach my children more in a silent way than we can drill in their heads in a verbal approach.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:32 pm
I have had NeatReceipts for 3 years now. It is a great system for keeping track of receipts and important papers. I recommend it to everyone.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:32 pm
I appreciate the ability to get rid of clutter of receipts that used to fill my office. Now I am able to scan them and shred immediately. After reading some of these comments, I am finding more and more ways to reduce the clutter in my life. I am excited to learn more about NeatDesk! Thank you NeatCompany!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:32 pm
I have been using the portable scanner for about three weeks and I have been absolutely amazed at how much eaiser it is to keep accurate, real time job cost records with your software. My primary business is construction management consulting and your software is one of the best tools for improving efficiency in the area of cost control of miscellenuous expenses I have found in the last ten years. In fact, I have already convienced two of my clients to purchase the portable scanner. I have turned into one of your best salespersons and I have not had the opportunity to try out the Neat Desk. Imagine how big a promoter I would be if the NeatDesk is better than the portable scanner.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:32 pm
I use my equipment at work and at home. My manual filing has been cut dramaticlly and finding any paperwork I need is a “SNAP”! My overall efficiency has increased and I spend less time looking for documents if I need to refer back to them!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:32 pm
I am a small office with limited resources. The NeatDesk seems like the perfect way to get myself more organized and be a responsible citizen. To get all the paper off my desk and put it into a more organized system would be fantastic. It basically handles everything from receipts, business cards, and other types of papers. This device gives a new meaning to the term green. Not only can I put paper into the software with the scanner, but I could also add items to the software directly from my email, Internet Explorer, or anything that creates PDF’s. Then I can get them organized and handy and never have to print them on paper. Once everything is in the software, I can create my reports for expense reimbursement and email them to clients. With everything being electronic, it could also make everything so much easier to find. Then I would not have to print everything under the sun and put it in different places just to make sure I could find it and to make sure my clients all had copies. I can just electronically file my copy and email them theirs. The desktop scanner looks superb since it will accept multiple items at once and is convenient for my desk top. Finally, since the docs are now electronic, I can have a backup in case tragedy strikes or I just simply loose something.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:32 pm
This is a great product. I do wish that scans were faster on the portable scanner, but its great to get rid of some paper. I should use this more frequently than I do. I did switch to the newest program, but find it much more difficult to use and it takes longer than my earlier version.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:32 pm
This would be incredibly useful for my family. I am our bill payer, tax preparer, and mom of 4 kids. My husband is in the military so we move a lot and it is very easy to misplace (lose forever) paperwork. My husband also has a side business and we could not sell our house before we had to move last summer so I am trying to keep up with home, business, rental, and any type of tax deduction receipt, bill, etc… I can get my hands on. When I did our taxes a few weeks ago and ended up having to stay up all night untill 10 am on the 15th I realized that I needed a new system…this sounds like it could be it…Please pick me!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:32 pm
I hate paper clutter. If I could eliminate half of what i save in paper format it would free up a tremendous amount of space and reduce the clutter. Not to mention saving a valuable resource
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:32 pm
I would love to win a NeatDesk. I have so much paper I’m about ready to scream. I already use the Neat Receipts scanner for business cards, etc. It would be great to get ALL my stuff scanned in and backed up on an external drive. Please, please pick me.
P.S. Just wanted to let you know, too, that you guys have an awesome technical support department. Have used them before and they couldn’t have been more helpful and easy to work with.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:33 pm
Rats. We wanted this product at the end of February but it wasn’t available for Mac so we bought the simple portable (and only available) version at the time. This would be so much handier situated in a central location in the office where EVERYONE could make use of the variety of functions. We work with juvenile delinquents and you can imagine the paperwork (reports, faxes, etc.) that could be digitized. Love the portable version anyway.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:33 pm
NeatDesk and the Desktop Scanner are great for filing copies of all your business checks received. You can save them to various folders associated with different businesses, businesses clients or collected for various periods of time, etc.. The same is true for personal checks received. The receipt slot on the desktop scanner is perfect to guide most sizes of checks.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:33 pm
I took my Neat Portable with me on my last trip and had all my expense receipts filed before I came home! WOW, no more shoe box for me.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:33 pm
I have been wanting a Neatdesk scanner for some time now, but unfortunately cannot afford to buy it yet. I have the Neatreceipts scanner, but the NeatDesk would be a lot more practical for my uses. I know it would greatly improve my life by eliminating the mountain of paperwork that I am forced to keep around for things like statements, receipts, invoices, taxes, etc. etc. Also there are a lot of articles I see in magazines that I would like to catalog and store on my computer so that I can simply pull it up using a search function. And the Neat Desk is so much easier and more convenient to use to scan documents than even the protable version. It would actually be much faster than trying to digg through a pile of clippings!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:33 pm
The Neatdesk system would be a great scanner to have.I run a large service department that has alot of paperwork changing hands from day to day. The Neatdesk would allow us to reduce our overall use of paper and that would help us and the enviroment. I have a pile of business cards that could organized easily with this product. The SCAN or PDF option buttons would make the Neatdesk effortless. The scanners ability to have multiple black & white or color sheets is a big plus. The Neatdesk software would allow me to scan receipts and make expense reports. I can keep track of expenses for projects and reduce the storage of paperwork. This product would make my desk clean again.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:34 pm
I am already using Neatworks for Mac with the original portable scanner. I love the product. Upgrading to the desktop scanner would allow me to get so much more in, so much faster.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:34 pm
I have been using it to track my information for my Daisy Girl Scout troop and training classes I have been taking. Not only does it keep the papers down to a minimum, I have everything I need in one location! I can’t imagine how people get along without it!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:34 pm
I have been using Neat Receipts for Mac since it was released and it has become a part of my daily routine with my business and personal finances. Adding the NeatDesk to the mix would make it possible to take the next step of converting all of my paper documents to electronic ones. It would make the task of convincing my wife that it’s simple and worth the effort. One of these days I will be able to get rid of my file cabinet all together.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:34 pm
I am tired of storing paperwork and buying more plastic bins to house them until we are ready to shred them and put them in the recycling. Having this would allow me to reduce the consumption of plastics. Not only that but I will have all my records electronicallyl saving space in my house and maybe we could use some of my office space for other purposes rather than housing file cabinets full of paper.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:34 pm
I got Neat Receipts to help me organize my taxes and it worked great!!! I am just a very disorganized person and my wife had had emough of my lack of putting tax deductions into their proper categories, as I own several rental properties that I am constantly needing to file away receipts and tax deductions. Neat receipts does a lot but I think this would go a long way to helping me further organize my life
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:34 pm
I’ve used Neatreceipts for over a year and since your 4.0 release I can’t recommend it highly enough. Since the 4.0 release the only thing missing is someone to scan and type keywords and dates from handwritten documents. Thanks Neatreceipts, keep on with the enhancements.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:34 pm
I have been eye’ing a neat receipts system for a over a year now. I work in an office of 4 and it would totally help us cut down on paper, not to mention how great it would be to be able to digitally archive everything that does come into the office.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:34 pm
Neatreceipts has been a blessing - it’s the best thing ever invented. I’ve tried other scanners and they don’t compare to how well this has organized my office - I am able to keep my paperwork forever without having the paper! I have recommened it to all of my friends who own their own business.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:34 pm
My life is drowning in a sea of papers. Organizing receipts and papers is the one area I have not tamed. I’m thinking this is the answer I’ve been searching for! I’m excited!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:35 pm
I received my NeatWorks system last month and just love it. I have gained two full drawers in my file cabinet and I have just started. I scan and then shred and then off to the recycle bin. A win - win .
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:35 pm
neat receipts for mac has helped us reduce the clutter around the office! neat receipts for mac is going to be a hard product to follow, but if neatdesk can do it, wow, just wow. =]
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:35 pm
I use Neat receipts and It would be great to scan them in without doing it one at a time it would save me a lot of time. I now have two big boxes from 1992 and 1993 that I have to look at before getting rid of them I don’t have any from 2008 and I shred them at the time of scanning
great product.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:36 pm
Use it for supermarket receipts to compare prices in other stores from my PDA.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:36 pm
I have found Neat Receipts to be most helpful in keeping up with both personal and business expenses especially those flimsy receipts that fade away within days. Neat Desk would be the next step to general paper organization, keeping up with market data, tenant leases and plats for the commercial/investment real estate business and other uses. Also, I would like for my divorce papers, records and files to go away - maybe I could scan some and forget.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:36 pm
It would be so great to get rid of all the paper in my filing cabinets and on my desk, while still knowing I could access the information when needed. But there’s so much of it! NeatDesk would be a great way to get a large volume of paper into electronic form.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:36 pm
On the road Neat desk has assisted me with receipts and to organize paperwork. In the office it has helped me in the reduction of paper. I can now electronically kept documents.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:36 pm
Neat Receipts has save me a great deal of time while I am traveling. I can now scan in receipts daily which has decreased my time to submit travel expenses. Not to mention, I no longer have to make a copy of the receipts and send them is saving not only postage but the cost of making the copy. It has also help me to keep track of documents both at work and at home. I wish I would have found this a long time ago.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:36 pm
I come from a family of pack rats. We have the philosophy that nothing should be thrown away because you “might” end up needing it one day. I have tax returns that haven’t seen the light of day in years as well as receipts for those returns that have been thrown into a bin that has grown larger and more unwieldy as the years go by. The NeatDesk will greatly improve our lives by helping us to electronically file all those receipts and returns without feeling stressed about throwing them away afterwards. We’ll definitely sleep better at night!
Also, the organizing properties of the digital filing system seems like a perfect solution to track all the receipts and help us “find” or “locate” those things that we’ve packed away for future use. Sounds like a perfect solution for our needs!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:36 pm
NeatDesk would do as is named– organize my cluttered desk.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:36 pm
I love how this device organizes my life, and helps me save money. I can easily track my expenses, and manage my budget. In addition, I scan manuals for household goods using it, so I’m able to toss the paper version, which is likely to get lost.

I travel all the time and use my Neat Receipts for work. Having the Neat Desk for our home would help simplify exactly all of the documents we need for taxes and to eliminate all of the clutter throughout.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:36 pm
Okay, so I already have a Neatworks and I love it but I would love even more to have the newer desktop model. I use it all the time and I love the updated NeatWorks over the NeatReceipts. Great new features that make it even easier.
We have a non-profit organization. I copy insurance cards, birth certificates, social security cards for all the kids. As well as donations given and receipts…of course. I also use it to copy warranty information and even little things like where to buy replacement parts for gadgets that I like, that may break eventually.
If I got a free unit. I’d pass my older unit on to a friend that would enjoy trying it before purchasing.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:37 pm
By the way.. something I forgot to mention. Initially I had a problem with the installation /operation of the system. They responded immediately and solved the issue. That’s what I call customer service.
That is something that sometimes gets overlooked. Thanks again.

I keep books for myself, and my sister, who I am the legal guardian, which accumulates a lot of paper. This sounds like a method that would help me organize all the data, and not have to store so much in file cabinets.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:37 pm
We conduct “African Leadership Campaigns” for Youth for Human Rights in West Africa. Electronic filing and sending documentation is a snap by scanning it in on the road using NeatReceipts. It’s light and works great!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:37 pm
I am having to control tax paperwork for different types of tax filings. The biggest use of the neat scanner is with thermal paper receipts. The recepts after a few weeks are belong reading or for use in tax purposes. I am lost with my Neat receipt scanner system.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:38 pm
THE DEATH OF A PACK RAT….since I received the travel neat receipt as a gift (the BEST gift since “The Police” reunion tour tickets by the way) my desk and life have truly become clean and organized….thanks ….can wait to win the NeatDesk….
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:38 pm
I’ve used NEATWORKS (orginally NEAT RECEIPTS) many years. I started using it for business expense billing and providing clients a “neat” copy of receipts.
Now, I’ve started using it for personal use to scan documents (i.e insurance explaination of benefits, registrations, utility bills, etc). I’m trying to catch-up with a back log, but know I’m going down the correct path.
Thanks,
MEG

My Neat Scanner is one of my essentials. I work in the field for the National Disaster Medical System. I have worked at Hurricane Ike in Texas and the Neat scanner was the perfect solution to move my paperwork. Several of the guys I worked with ordered their own Neat while we where there. Great product!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:38 pm
The program itself is fantastic, as is the scanner. I’m sure the NeatDesk would make the experience of having NeatReceipts even better. I’ve been using the program since it’s inception and find it to be one of the best investments I have ever made.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:39 pm
I had seen the ads in magazines for a couple years for Neat Receipts, and I thought it looked interesting. Then my business started to get big enough my CPA was asking for all sorts of information almost monthly, he travels between offices and so physically dropping things off was difficult. I was spending hours a week keeping track and organizing paper. Then I saw another ad and bought a Neat Receipt scanner, what a difference! I spend a couple minutes a day scanning in the receipts and business cards I get that day. I can send my CPA anything he needs through email and it helps me keep track of how I spend money. The NeatDesk is my scanner on steroids, I could further reduce my file cabinet and be able to track my clients information and send them information just like I do my CPA. I highly recommend that if anyone has huge amounts of paperwork they have to keep track of that the get a NeatDesk.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:39 pm
I’m a consultant and my life has become so much easier during invoice time with Neat Receipts. I don’t know how I survived without it!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:39 pm
I bought Neat Receipts to scan all of my receipts for purchases in order to have a record for insurance purposes. I love the reporting capability! I have also started working on going entirely paperless for my records and for those statements that I don’t receive electronically, I’ve been able to scan them using NeatReceipts as well as any other important documents. Not only does this reduce the paper in my home but because I travel often for work, I’m able to have all of my information with me wherever I go. Also, I just started a new job in February and they require that we scan and upload our receipts for expense reports. I’ve found many uses for Neat Receipts and can’t believe I didn’t have one sooner. It’s fabulous!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:39 pm
I use both the PC and Mac version of NeatWorks. This by far is the most useful system for office organization. The value it provides is greater than the cost of purchase, as paper seems to disappear from sight. Additionally, searching and organizing documents, receipts and contact information are quick and easy.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:39 pm
I am an organized “wanna-be”. The Neat Desk could make that happen. We currently have a basket that receipts and paper get tossed into and when I have time I try to organize them. I would put the Neat Desk on the desk at the back door and everyone would be responsible for scanning in their own paperwork! Whala! Wanna-be no more, it could be a reality with Neat Desk!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:39 pm
[As both a provider and consumer of medical consulting services] your h/w+s/w combo may help us all save the planet and ourselves in more ways than most folks imagine. Just weigh your own or a colleague or child’s backpack or briefcase and think of the savings in both pain and suffering your products enable. If you need more convincing, talk to some of the clients at the Sports & Physical Therapy clinic I must now frequent.
Tonight we wrap up the 2009 Harvard “Mini Med School.” Perhaps by next year, we could show some real global progress in not only “Neat” but “Lightweight” as well.
Thanks for all that your team’s vision enables!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:40 pm
I had been waiting for the Neat Receipts for Mac software for quite some time. Now that I have been using it -I am excited to see what Neat Desk for Mac can do!

I used to walk around with pockets full of business cards from people I had met at all the meetings and functions I attended. When it got to be too much to put back in my pockets each morning, I would break down and spend a couple of hours adding them to Outlook Contacts. Now with my Neat scanner, I can scan them in minutes each morning as I’m starting my day.
My wife is happy, too, because I don’t loads of business cards in my pockets, on my dresser, on the kitchen desk - in her way.
Thanks.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:40 pm
I have the neatreceipts stick scanner, but really would love to have the new NeatDesk system. We are going to be moving soon, and I would love to be able to get rid of boxes and boxes of old papers that I don’t really need, but can’t quite bear to part with.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:40 pm
As being a consultant, at the end of the month I usually find my truck and breifcase full of receipts and business cards. Since getting Neatreceipt, I have found it 100% easier doing my expensie reports and keeping track of everything. The fact it can scan business cards and any other document is a big help. Also since the scanner is so small it can fit in my computer bag and go everywhere with me. Since I have started using it, all the other guys at the office have purchased one too. Over all I am quite happy with the product and recommend it to others.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:40 pm
Allows me to see what I am spending on a daily basis for my company. And this keeps me within budget. All receipts get recorded, making tax time a breeze as I just hand over a back-up cd to my CPA. What could be easier than that!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:40 pm
On this earth day my family and I are planting our first tree together (Apple tree) and explaining to our two children why it is important to give back and preserve the environment. As our children grow, we hope that the tree will grow and be an example for many green lessons to come. As our family starts this green journey, I am embarrassed as to how much paper I use in my commercial real estate business and believe I would be a hypocrite if I do not change my business paper practices. The Neatdesk will allow me to be paperless and more importantly a good example for my children.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:41 pm
I have used NeatReceipts and the little scanner for several years now to keep my business receipts organized. But I have six file drawers filled with paper - notes and essays and research papers from graduate school, articles that I’ve published, and a variety of other materials - that are inaccessible to me because they are so hard to find!
Isn’t that sad that the fruit of thirty years of pastoral ministry, graduate and doctoral work, and all the stuff that I’ve written is basically useless to me?
I can hardly imagine how my work and my service would be improved wih a fine product like NeatDesk.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:41 pm
I started thinking about the amount of time I spend filing.
When I receive a paper document, bill, etc., I create a file - that takes time. When I need to take action or reference the file, the contents are pulled - that takes time. Later I have to re-file the item -that takes time. Eventually, I have to archive files that are too large or no longer relevant - that takes time. Even later, I cull out old files to be shredded - that takes time.
This year I have learned some important professional and personal lessons about the value of time…my time and the time of others. Time is the ultimate finite resource - there is so much and only God can make more.
What you are offering with your system is nothing less than TIME…and that is truly priceless!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:41 pm
By scanning my documents, I’ll be able to have one single digital copy instead of having to keep track of print outs and documents that waste space. Having all of the documents in one spot that is digitally indexed will make them easy to find, keeping me from having to print out multiple copies of the same document when I can’t find the original.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:41 pm
I love the fact that Neat Receipts for Mac can have other applications send files to it directly. This means that I don’t have to print out things for my records and waste paper in the first place. All my Invoices (most of which I already send electronically), can be sent right to Neat Receipts for better viewing and search-ability. Also for redundant copies for safe keeping docs and receipts, I can just have everything duplicated in electronic form stored on disks or servers and not waste a redundant amount of paper.
I have the software for Mac, but with the ADF scanner, I could also clean up the rest of my office and organize all my receipts and documents and make my life much more organized.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:41 pm
I have been using your scanner and sofware to keep all my files well organized. After each scanner I shered all paper and take it to the recycling bin. What a great way to save our planet.
I am swichint to Mac computer and I need to get my hands on a new neatworks scanning system for my new computer. Even a reburbished one will do, as they have Neat receipts waranty.
Thanks to neatreceipts I have all my files in good order.
Thanks, keep up the good work.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:42 pm
I use Neat everyday and do not save any paper receipts. At the end of the year I print the reports for my accountant and it’s done. No more file cabinets filled with paper that you’ll look at “maybe” once in ten years. If you don’t have a “Neat” scanner you are missing out.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:42 pm
I want to complelely convert all physical documents to their electronic form. Receipts are only one of the various documents that clutter my life. I want to e-fy (electronify) all my documents like tax docs, educational certificates, etc and then archive them into a server/DVD. Thereafter I will never have to worry about losing them.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:42 pm
What a great way to archive my kids artwork as they grow up. Probably help make this last minute tax filing be a little less chaotic too! Thanks for the Canadian tax system support.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:42 pm
The Neat scanner and Software for Mac has totally changed my workflow. I scan meeting notes, business cards, reciepts. and shred the paper. Then I use the shreddings as kindling, for my fireplace! Imagine how much faster I could be with the Desk unit!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:43 pm
NeatDesk has been incredibly helpful in keeping me organized. I had the Neat Receipts hand held version previously but the NeatDesk is much better for scanning multiple copies. I not only use it for keeping track of receipts but monthly credit card statements, utility bills and whatever else I need to keep organized and go paperless. Tax time is easier than ever now.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:43 pm
I would take all of my bills, receipts and statements, new and in the file cabinet that is almost full and scan them all.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:43 pm
I help my parents run a housing rental business here in my city. As you can imagine paperwork is really everywhere. After countless tries we have not been able to organize all of the info we need with a regular scanner. With the neat desk we could get a handle on everything from reciepts and invoices to leasing agreements. I help them with their paperwork while also attending college. I am a full time student and would find uses for this in every aspect of my college career. I always need to digitize handouts for classes and this would be a perfect solution for me as well as my parents. When it comes to taxes having all your reciepts digital would be amazing. This neat desk could save our business!!!!!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:43 pm
Working at home as a consultant I go thru reams of paper and always have a mountain receipts. NeatWorks would be the very thing I am looking for, reduction of clutter, a way to find that missing receipt, and consolidation of my reports delivered to clients. That RFP in the future will be considerably easer to put together, when I know how to cut and paste from past proposals all at my finger tips in the NeatWorks tool chest. So lets make it happen and go as paperless as possible.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:44 pm
As a graduate student, NeatDesk would be perfect to file important notes, conference papers/receipts,grant documents, grant receipts, etc. It is the missing solution! While tough to write off as a grant expenditure, I would love to have one!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:44 pm
We are in the process of “greening” our home. We are using recycled products for our kitchen, and changing out older appliances. A Neat Desk is just the thing to help with this project as we clear out old files and recycle those old papers!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:44 pm
I have used NeatWorks for more than 4 years. It is a wonderful way to get out from under the paper that computers were supposed to replace. It’s good to know that the IRS is happy with the digital copies so I can freely scan and shred.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:44 pm
When I bough my NeatWorks system I was very impressed. My original purchase was the portable scanner. I have since purchased the full size scanner and I was blown away by the increase productivity. I love the speed at which it goes through a stack of documents!! Great job folks!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:44 pm
I’ve been using NeatReceipts for my partnership consulting business for almost six years and really like it. I have the small, portable scanner and the Windows software. I recently purchased a MacBook Pro but kept my Windows laptop so I could still use NeatReceipts. Have the new NeatDesk for Mac would simplify my recordkeeping for the business and save me a huge amount of time and effort. Not having to maintain the paper receipts, invoices or bank information saves so much space in our small office that I can’t imagine ever giving up my NeatReceipts products.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:44 pm
how NeatDesk will help me reduce paper clutter and simplify your life
Tax time is very Taxing - Where are the receipts ?
How will i fill all this Forms ? and here comes The NEATDESK to help with all that
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:44 pm
Running a home-based business is enough of a challenge without being inundated with paper. I had no idea how much clutter would be generated by the necessity of keeping all those records! Neat Receipts has come to my resuce with a clear (dare I say clean?)desk top and seamless interface with my bookkeeping software.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:45 pm
I have just taken on a client that has 5 years of documents needing scanned. NeatDesk would significantly reduce the amount of time it will take me to scan and file the mountains of records. This will help me get the electronic files backedup offsite, essential to security!
Reducing the amount of paper files, and the cabinets required to store them, will reduce papermites and dusty allergens in the office, and give a clean, neat, professional look to the office. Shredding and recycling the paper will support the environment, and the economy!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:45 pm
I am drowning in paperwoork thanks to tax season. Please snd help.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:45 pm
I bough Neatreceipt Mobile a month ago and I love it. I scanned my business and personal documents of last 10 years and saved lot of space and all available ready in searchable form on my laptop. Great product and great software, will love to recommand to all.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:45 pm
This would really help me out. Starting and running two small business in the past year takes a lot of time and effort not to mention money. My scanner died several months ago and it would really help to have a new scanner, not to mention the unique software to help get me organized.
I recycle a lot now and appreciate the benefit to our earth that electronic files brings…this is really a great product for business and for helping the earth.
Keep up the great work.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:45 pm
I have been using NeatReceiptss scanner and software since it was first introduced and really like the latest NeatWorks. I will soon be changing jobs, having the NeatDesk scanner would enable me to quickly start off in a new position and keep all my documents receipts, filed away on my computer, in addition to being able to sync it to Quickbooks, and Outlook, importing PDF’s, wow it would be unbelievable. I hate carrying business cards, and storing receipts, trying to remember who was at the lunch or why the item was purchased. This just makes so much sense. What a way to start a new day!!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:45 pm
What an awesome contest and a perfect way to celebrate Earth Day! I love my Neat Receipts, but desperately need the new Neat Desk for faster scanalizing.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:45 pm
I already own one NeatDesk and love it. I am setting up a satellite office and need one for that location. I have been using neat products for over 3 years and it has eliminated all my desk clutter. No more going through a pile of receipts at the end of the year and filling up my closets. Now its shred it, recycle it and forget it.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:46 pm
Neat Receipts has allowed me to inventory my files and keep track of what I have in my bank safty deposit box. Now I can review critical items like insurance policies, wills, medical declarations, powers-of- attorney, etc. without going to the bank to get the documents. Also I scan concept drawings and print versions to track design updates and progress.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:46 pm
I purchased the travel scanner. It has helped me remove the many, many stacks of paper on my des. I also bring the unit with me on my sales calls. Now I scan the orders in as well as any problem paperwork that the customer may have. This alone has helped make and keep sales. What an AWESOME addition to my work armentarium. WOW !!! By the way.. something I forgot to mention. Initially I had a problem with the installation /operation of the system. They responded immediately and solved the issue. That’s what I call customer service.
That is something that sometimes gets overlooked. Thanks again
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:46 pm
NeatDesk would be a wonderful addition to my home/work office. I have a lot of papers sitting around in my closet that need to be organized big time. I know NeatDesk would fix that whole thing. Being able to quickly scan it all in batches and take my documents with me whereever I go would just be awesome!
I cant think of any other application that would help in this regard. I really like the smaller footprint that Neatdesk apparently has also.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:46 pm
I have been using Neat Receipts for 2 1/2 years and can not live without it! I love not having to tape receipts to paper and fax the expenses in. It is so easy to use and maintain weekly expenses. I recently lost my position and need to send Neat Receipts back to the office. I am starting my own business in May and traveling weekly and will have daily expenses. I don’t want to go back to the old, wasteful way of life!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:46 pm
WOW, I have 35 years of Personl Taxes and family history I would not to haul around with me when I move. I know I can clear out many years of paper work and only keep a few years back. But what if. This Neat Desk could make my life and future a lot lighter. Still have my records and no banker boxes. No hunting through stacks of paper to find just one thing. Life could be great with Neat Desk at my side.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:47 pm
My kids have a Mac computer. They do all their homework on it. I would love to use the NeatDesk for them. I would scan all of their returned homework. This would eliminate the bins and bins of schoolwork now cluttering up my home!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:47 pm
I purchased Neat Receipts since I’m travelling every week and I was spending the last weekend of every month organizing and scanning my receipts so that I’d get my expense statements in on time. Now I spend a just a few minutes each night in my hotel room scanning in my days receipts and my weekends and free. When travelling I tend to carry about 10 lbs of hardcopy documents with me which I reviewed and marked up, with NeatDesk I could easily scan these documents (including my scribbles) and free myself of the hard copy. I’ve never dropped 10 lbs so quickly and easily.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:47 pm
Scanning documents should be a mandatory part of every company’s business continuity plan. Running a business in South Florida the last 5 years has forced me to rely on scanning important documents and backing them up online as part of our everyday routine.
I have sold my interest in my previous company and have started a new venture. The peace of mind that comes with knowing that all my records are scanned and backed up is like having enough liability insurance…. it helps me sleep at night.
The ability to index and search these paper records is the icing on the cake.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:48 pm
I’m now a serial user of Neat Receipts for Mac, and it is actually having a direct effect on our business. Our accounting is done out of west coast office, and now I’m able to electronically forward PDF files and reports that used to be express mailed monthly. We’re going green as a company; reducing paper and physical delivery being a significant part of the initiative. The more you use the software, the more you can see the efficiency potential of the product.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:48 pm
Neat Receipts will help me preserve a 45 year marriage. My darling spouse has had it with my clutter and disorganization which crowds our home, limits time together for enjoyment and is financially costly as things are forgotten. She says she has had to become my secretary to keep me organized. It will also help me in my law practice as paper fills a desk all too quickly.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:48 pm
I have several boxes of papers that I would love to scan in and store digitally so I could both find what I need and not have them take so much space.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:48 pm
I have Neat Receipts. I would love to have Neat Desk! Automated document scanning! So many more papers that I could scan, shred and recycle. Already the paper trail of receipts stops with me. I used to send my accountant photocopies of all my receipts - adding yet more paper to the pile. Now with Neat Receipts I send him a PDF of them all including an itemized summary. If I had Neat Desk, I would scan all my bills and documents too so I could save and share them all electronically.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:49 pm
As a constant traveler and needing to save all the receipts and all of the other documents that are gleaned on the road, the office at home is a wreck. This unit will give me back a portion of the sanity that I have lost, not to mention file space. The biggest item is: “what did I do with that page”?
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:49 pm
I run two businesses as an individual, and the paper trail is enormous. I would love to do away with paper filings while retaining my receipts and bills. Obviously this would reduce my storage space significantly.
As a real estate agent, however, I am also obligated to provide my clients with copies of all the documents, and that can easily be 100 pages, plus I have to provide the same documents to my broker, and to escrow. I can easily consume a full ream of paper on a transaction. With the Neat Desk solution, I can easily scan all signed originals, one copy for my files, one to the broker ( with the originals ), one to the client(s), and one to escrow … all electronically. So this product not only saves me valuable storage space, but it saves paper, and it helps me reduce the paper clutter for several other people at the same time.
I would enjoy the opportunity of having this on my desk and would love to share my success with it on my websites.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:49 pm
I love your product neatreceipt, I use it daily in my business, as a truck driver, It has made my life so much better, and much more organized, This is a product that is so easy to use and really makes the
quality digital images that I can send to my clients for billing, saves so much time and increase productivity. I have saved so much paper for converting to the digital scanner, I scan everything that’s paper and save it on my hard drive, and the organizer that comes in the software is so awesome, my accountant praise’s your program for tax reports. So with this new desk receipt, it would really be a great opputunity to have one. I love your products, keep up the great work.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:50 pm
We inspect a lot of fire protection systems, which generates tons of paperwork. Keeping track of the mountains of files is a Hurculean task! Actually using the information in the files (if you can even find them) can be very time consuming. This would be a great way to track the information and share it electronicly with the people who really need it!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:50 pm
The reason I am so excited about the NeatDesk is that as a nutritionist and trainer in the process of developing several seminars as well as books, my office (also known as our living room!) is full of massive piles of magazine and newspaper clippings with useful information that I want to keep. However, the information is totally inaccessible when it is in ‘piles of paper’ form - I have no idea what is in the pile, or how to find specific information I need. I plan to scan and pdf all of my clippings so that the information in them becomes a searchable electronic database, which will make my writing task incredibly easier!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:51 pm
I am the ultimate packrat. I have assorted papers from my entire lifetime, all in random boxes cluttering up my room, my house, and my garage. Being able to scan them all and reference them with minimal hassle means I could throw most of it away! That sounds amazing to me!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:51 pm
I am mobile consultant and planner. I currently use a Neat Reciepts scanner on the road to scan documents at my clients residence and their place of business. On average I scan about 10 documents a day. Using this calculator: https://www.rainforestmaker.org/rain/php/calculator.php
I have determined that I will save 1 tree per year based on my current usage. That means over the next 26 years of my career I will save approximately 26 trees! In addition to simplifying my work and saving the enviroment, I can also use the money saved on paper & ink to build my own wealth!! With the cost of a ream of paper currently at about $8 in Canada - that means and additional savings of $56 a year. Contributed to my retirement plan this will result in an additional $3500 towards my personal retirement! It pays to go green with the Neat Desk!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:51 pm
I have owned a Neat scanner for a week now. Keeping up with receipts has never been easier. Scan, shred, and expenses are instantly organized. The most arduous part of submitting expense reports eliminated. Thanks!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:52 pm
I think NeatDesk is the very best invention of all time. I run four businesses and scan all my receipts to seperate files for each business. It is an awesome time saver at tax time. Less Mess and less time to compile all the information required. It is a valuable tool for keeping track of business cards/contacts. The possibilities are endless. Keep up the good work Neat, you have made a difference to keep the earth “Green”.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:52 pm
I have been using a Neat Receipt portable scanner since 1/1/09 and love it! What I didn’t expect was to be able to scan and e-file recipes I cut from the newspaper and magazines each week. They used to pile up until I tested them. Now I can scan, recycle the clipping, and look them up easily by catagory! Recipts, documents, recipes….all easily and NEATLY accessible!

Unfortunately, paper has become the heartache of my life. I have always been unable to toss anything away. I have found that when I have thrown something out I usually find out later that I need it. I bought a digital planner once and put all my addresses and important information into it. It took ages but finally I was very proud of the job and shredded everything. Several days later the palm pilot died and everything was lost. This has happened to me several times in many different ways. So now, I have bags, binders, and files full of important papers that I cannot throw out. I would love to find some easy way of eliminating this mess and to become more organized.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:52 pm
By storing the receipts as electronic documents, and with the excellent OCR, I can instantly sort hundreds of them by spending categories and produce reports electronically. I can print them to pdfs and avoid having to print and revise reports using reams of paper. This greatly decreases my cost of operation and saves time by simply avoiding the print-to-paper steps. The mythical, long-promised, electronic desktop seems to be getting closer to reality thanks to NeatDesk!

Neat Receipts has become The Standard for our flight department. Neat’s great software and compact size works great for us on the ground and in flight. These products have helped make the records required (FAA & IRS) for any Aviation organization very much less tedious. Thanks for all the help
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:52 pm
What do you do with 20 years of client files that you need to keep? You scan them and shred the original. Also, financial and tax records can be scanned and the originals shredded since the IRS will accept PDF files. You can put the files on a DVD and get rid of many boxes of files.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:53 pm
The original NeatReceipts (for Mac) has been amazing, but I always wished I could have something at home with a document feeder. Finally, NeatDesk (for Mac) will let me scan my old papers and files without my having to feed each page into the scanner. Hooray for Neat!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:53 pm
I have the portable Neat Receipts but the desktop would also be awesome! This is the best product I have seen in many years…will keep your receipts organzied plus you can copy and e-mail items!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:53 pm
This would make my life so much easier. My CEO attends multiple trade conferences through out the year. I am constantly being inundated with receipts and business cards upon his return. I had an older version neatreceipt scanner but lost it to one of our consultants that was having a hard time submitting his receipts the old fashioned way. I have asked my CEO to purchase the NeatDesk as a replacement, but have been unable to convince him. I am sure if we did get one, it would not be the only one, everyone that travels and gets business cards and has receipts to turn in would love to have this.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:53 pm
I have been waiting for NeatDesk to become available for Mac for a long long time!
This is the answer to anyone who would like to get and stay organized without the hassle of trying to do it yourself!
NeatDesk not only scans all the information, but puts it in a format other applications can use and even categorizes it! WOW! Can it be any easier!
I cannot wait to get rid of my shoeboxes of receipts that I have now and have all of the information I desire at my fingertips!
This is a great idea who’s time has come! What a great idea!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:53 pm
I am a Neat Receipt fan and have the Windows version Scanalizer with Neatworks. I am not as advanced as I would like to be, but keep working toward it. I have been “eyeing” the NeatDesk for a while.
The suggestion that I loved most in your blog was “write less”. Perfect.

Running a small business along with a household of 5 inundates oneself with an excess amount of records that would be of great relief to be able to scan all kinds of documents in order to reduce paper clutter in the office and around the house. Looking forward in using my NeatDesk with my Mac’s!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:53 pm
My scanner was a great gift. I use it more than I ever thought I would for, receipts, document scanning, card scanning, etc. It’s made my travels much easier and my laptop bag lighter.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:54 pm
Scanning my receipts not only eliminates clutter, but I am able to recycle the paper receipts every day. It only takes a few minutes to scan and classify the expenses and off I go!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:54 pm
I have rental homes and a business that I manage out of my home. Between the rental statements, utility bills leases, and other receipts, I get a ton of paperwork every month. I use your first generation neat receipts scanner that I’ve had for a number of years, but it is very time consuming scanning one document at a time. Using the NeatDesk would provide me extra time to go out and do fun things instead of watching one document at a time go through the scanner.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:55 pm
How generous of Neat!!
A NeatDesk for Mac would allow me to become more organized as I continue to receive more paper than I can physically store. Imagine all the business cards, receipts, letters, bills, etc. I receive on a daily basis being stored electronically instead of in file cabinets & boxes (okay, yeah, piled up as well). This would be wonderful.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:55 pm
OK -
I Beta tested NeatWorks for the Mac - which I had been waiting for - and immediately fell in love. It makes digital organization a breeze. Then the final product released with all the bells and whistles - business card scanning to contacts is perfect and works superbly.
The portable scanner works great- and I take it everywhere - however - the NeatDesk will definitely speed up my conversion to completely paperless life.
Thanks and keep up the good work.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:55 pm
Well I just bought the small one and I LOVE IT! Being self employed, working from home, space is an issue.I have to keep records for my clients/property owners. I now believe this is the perfect solution to my having to store/keep files for owners receipts for them for years. I plan to start scanning each owners file and send it to them so they can store it. Then I shred! More space in my office, and no more clutter.
I recycle all my shredded paper to the local pet store for the puppies. So they will be real happy to see me coming with offerings.
My accountant loves me, no more shoe/file boxes of papers. This also saves me money because he does not have to charge me for sorting! Bonus for me. WIN, WIN…best new gadget-money well spent.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:55 pm
MY DESK IS SUCH A MESS!! With 4 kids and an at home business I could use some organization in my life. This would be a perfect addition to our going green in the office.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:55 pm
I have been using Neat Receipts for about five years. I’m a mac user but loved NeatReceipts so much that I had been using it on borrowed PC’s just so I could take advantage of its coolness during tax time. That’s how valuable it is to me… that I’d beg/borrow a different platform just to use it. Thankfully its now on the Mac, and now the word is getting out thanks to W.O.M. and campaigns like this for Earth Day. If more folks used NeatDesk and these Neat products, they’d not only be more organized, the paperlessness is better for everyone including our poor abused planet.
Rock on, Neat Co.

I love my Neatworks for Mac plus mini-scanner bundle!
It’s the best.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:56 pm
It will help me know exactly what I am doing with regards to my spending. I have business expenses and personal expenses that I need to a better job of keeping up with.
I will keep a cleaner work space AND mind!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:56 pm
I already use a basic flat-top scanner to scan and save important docs and receipts, but I’m the only one in my house that will do it because it’s such a pain. Therefore our file drawer is still overflowing.
Looks like the NeatDesk system would make it easier and more convenient for everyone and finally let us ditch the paper.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:56 pm
WOW! What a lifesaver this would be. A marriage-saver, really. I am a receipt hoarder and my husband throws them all away. I can never find what I am looking for because it is either a. lost in a pile of other papers or b. thrown in trash by my loving husband. To top it off, we have a 1 year-old who loves to find paper and put it in her mouth. So sometimes the paper or receipt I need has been disintegrated by baby slime. I am going to be working from home shortly and desperately need to get organized before then. I am sure all of us us would feel more relaxed in a home that has less paper-clutter. Just seeing it makes me anxious!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:57 pm
I have been using Neat Desk since it came out. I use it for all of my receipts and many of my documents. It also comes in super handy for scanning PDFs in a hurry. I could always use another one!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:57 pm
This would be so fantastic to win the 2009 Earth Day Giveaway - I’ve already put out word about the contest via my Twitter account. I have SO MUCH paper from my job at a major consulting firm, my father’s small chocolate business and personal papers - piles everywhere! The NeatDesk solution would be the perfect answer!! What a great idea to run this contest.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:57 pm
NeatReceipts has helped me organize all our home daycare business receipts in a simple paperless way. I love the ability to split receipts and search on criteria that I might need to reference later on. I also use it to scan in recipes and articles that are of use to me personally. The uses of this awesome easy to use software are endless. I look forward to new features and new products from your company!!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:58 pm
I really like this scanner, but i like more the software, it simplified my office work, thanks a lot.

April 22nd, 2009 at 2:58 pm
Work expenses on the road have been so much easier since I talked husband into letting me purchase neat receipts. i just want to depaper my life and scan everything and get organised, NeatDesk is the next step!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:59 pm
We have a regular flow of paper that seems to need to be moved, stapled and filed. The Neatdesk would be a wonderful solution to these stacks!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:59 pm
I love my NeatWorks. However, my husband is very jealous. He has an Apple and watches me easily produce expense reports for three different companies (and throw away receipts!), use ’searchable’ pdf files, and scan corporate documents, as well as personal keepsakes. In addition, I can travel with the compact product and handy case! He needs one, too ! I’d love to give it to him as a gift.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:59 pm
My wife and I help senior citizens stay in their home and not have to go to a Nursing home.. I could help them by organizing their documents and (for example) making their tax time less taxing. I could also organize the files that have years of tax returns and keep future receipts and taxes filed electronically. I could help out many people with a Neat Receipts scanner.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:59 pm
I’ve always been on the fence about NeatReceipts - because it lacked the larger scan format of what NeatDeask can do! I recently started my own company, but I have 14 years of notes and other documents that I want to digitize. Add to that all the items I track now for tax time, and I’ve got at least two surefire ways to keep my NeatDesk busy for some time to come.

Yes, it is earth day.
We need to acknowledge that God has
Given us the earth and the bounty it offers,
Great minds that gave us the oil, coal, timber and etc for airplanes,
automobiles, telephones, and even the plastic
bag. I hope you do appreciate the bounty that God has given us to be
the most productive country in the world
Yes it is a good a day.
Thank you for listening.

I have been using Neat Receipts for Mac for about 6 months now. It has simplified my life tremendously. I am rid of the filing cabinet worth of receipts AND I can reconcile my expenses so much easier. The only complaint I have had is scanning a single document, receipt or business card at a time. Now with the release of Neatdesk for Mac you have overcome that one complaint. I love your product !
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:00 pm
This would help me to clean up my life more than any one can imagine!! I have saved all of my paper copies of bills, statements, receipts, magazine articles and clippings for my daycare business and this would help me. I have looked into these before, but have never been able to afford something like this. Then once I have all my receipts copy we can do craft thing with the paper receipt like make paper cup for starting new seeds for our garden and mother day flowers
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:00 pm
If I could see around all of this clutter on my desk, I would tell you how I would use your product! Fortunately, you contacted me by email so I don’t need to tidy up that at all. Your product sounds great. I currently use neat receipts and love it!
Thanks,
Jim
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:00 pm
I’ve been impressed with the ease and portability of NeatDesk products. It helps me keep my desk and office area more organized, free of paper and a record keeping process second-to-none. Having the total NeatBooks package would only help to enhance this product in my mind and in turn I would be an even more enthusiastic marketer for NeatDesk products.
Thanks for making such a great product.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:00 pm
I have the NeatReceipts and love it. I have not finished all my papers work since what I have to scan is quite massive…some go back to 1965, also scanning all my husbands military papers is a big task in itself. I would love to win the NeatDesk as it would make copying the large papers so much easier. I also have years of photos to scan into its own files and give the original photos to my kids(4), grandkids(20) and 3 great grandkids. The NeatDesk would be a the greatest blessing to get out from under all the paperwork…your company is a blessing. Hope I can be one of the receipants of your great machine.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:01 pm
I’m retired military, and in corporate security now..I have about twenty years of training materials and other items that I’d like to organize in order to start a business and write a book. This syste, along with my existing “neat Receipts” gear, would optimize those goals.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:01 pm
It would be wonderful to be able to scan a variety of documents of different sizes at once. I am now using neat receipts, which helps a lot, but it would be even better to be able to process batches at a time.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:01 pm
Neat desk will help take away ANY excuse I have for not using my portable scanner (where did it go? oh, maybe under that pile of paper to be scanned!) The additional features would be such a benefit!
Thanks!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:01 pm
NEATDESK would be an invaluable tool to use the next time I prepare my taxes. Year after year I find myself digging through filing cabinets, piles of papers, etc. looking for tax-related documents. with NeatDesk, it will all be in the same place, organized, and safely backed-up. No more fumbling.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:02 pm
I have been using NeatReceipts for a couple of years now and have been very impressed with the quality of the software and the free tech support whenever I have had a problem (only twice I think). I am a one-man insurance office (no secretary) and has been a real time saver when I am on the road and have to look up a client file folder. I could not do without it now. The NeatDesk would also save me time so as not to hand feed each individual sheet.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:02 pm
NeatDesk is the way to go to reduce the paper that I have to deal with daily. I scan everything in! Receipts, recipes, business cards (including infrequently used credit cards), documents (great way to scan rarely referred to manuals and/or warranty papers). It just makes no sense to be holding onto something that I might need to actually see once in 5 years!! Electronically, no bother at all. I wish that the filing system included was just a bit more flexible, but this is a mior quibble.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:03 pm
As a typical ADHD person, I cannot tolerate clutter. Neat Desk has provided a way to maintain order within the officeplace and sanity at the desk. As a minister, I am loaded up with paper, and I constantly seek to reduce the paper pile, while at the same time provide easy access to needed documents and files. Neat Desk is a strong step in the right direction.
God bless!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:03 pm
I have been working for a catering company for 26 years. To bad It turns out to be a dead end job. I’m at the ceiling and for me there is no where to go. I realized that it had limited possibilities long ago. And, long ago, I have made many attempts to start my own business. None of my business ventures worked out the way I wanted them to. I am pretty sure that is due to the fact that I needed to organize my stuff better. I see NeatDesk helping me achieve Fortune 500 status!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:03 pm
I bought your software and the receipt/page scanner about a year ago. I read about the product in a magazine article and I did a lot of research before I purchased it. I have a landscape business and use the software and scanner every day. I could not be without it! I scan everything, estimates, articles, business cards, landscape drawings and so much more. One of the really great things I love about using the scanner and software is that I also use QuickBooks in my business and I am able to scan every receipt from all my employees and company and personal purchases and then sync everything directly into QuickBooks! WHAT A WONDERFUL TIME SAVER! A program not just for business use, but also for everyday home use. My wife uses it to scan articles from her cooking magazines and she emails them to her family in Germany! My daughter uses it to scan her homework and uses the printouts to play school. So many uses! EXTREMELY easy to set up and use and I could not live without it! My desk is finally clear of clutter, and this hasn’t happened in 50 years! I highly recommend the product and do so to everyone I talk to. Keep up the great work!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:03 pm
I am graphic designer with very limited office space, Neat Desk would be an amazing tool to help me get unburied from under the constant paperwork pile.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:03 pm
I took my NeatReceipts to a vendor expo and used it so I would not have to carry all those papers and business cards on the air plane home. It really made a difference. I was able to upload all my new contacts into my address book and email the new contacts that evening. boy were they impressed. - you made me look good. THANKS!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:03 pm
We are in the floral industry. We handle hundreds of orders daily which require printing an extensive amount of paper which follows each order thru 4 different departments, until each order is placed on a delivery vehicle. Each document includes notes from each department. We need to keep these documents for 9 months. Handling this much paper is stagering.
Added to this issue, is our need to keep copies of our drivers Trip Sheets, which include delivery times and signatures. This also needs to be kept for at least 9 months. We have had inquiries into deliveries a year past.
The ability to scan these douments into our server, allowing the ability to search for a document from a desktop will greatly reduce workload and improve efficiency. ALso, having a digital copy will allow us to forward these docs without the need to re-print and fax.
We utilize at least 1 (13000 copy) toner cartridge per month bewteen two printers.
Help us!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:03 pm
Here’s an analogy: in a blizzard of paper, NeatWorks is like a shovel. I use it to reduce all sorts of paper problems, including scanning receipts and research documents and business contacts. Having NeatDesk would be like having a heavy-duty snowblower or a plow. Or like moving to Miami. Minus the hurricanes. And the beaches.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:03 pm
I run a health insurance agency in Las Vegas, NV. Neat Receipts has saved me many times when I needed to get a form to an insured or a company in order to file a claim, prove coverage or send a signed from out.
Without Neat Receipts I’m sure my life would be more difficult an my postage and other associated costs would be higher.
Now to tackle my “piles” of paper…
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:04 pm
I’ve used the Neat Receipt portable scanner for the last 3 years and I love it. When I’m on the road, I can scan my expense receipts and not have to keep track of all the paper.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:04 pm
WE have really liked our Neat Receipts scanner & software to keep up with our expenses and reduce our paper files. We have been hoping to get the Neat Office system to help us with our other paper filing and scanning problems. Keep the good stuff coming!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:04 pm
Running two home-based businesses creates unbelievable paper clutter. We already have 2 NeatReceipts in the office and we love it! We know if we are lucky enough to win the New NeatDesk, we would be able to start 10 additional projects and revamp our office even quicker!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:04 pm
I am a paper pack-rat, and no matter how much I try organize, I can never find what I need when I need it. Having everything stored and organized electronically, and be able to “search” it, would be incredibly helpful!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:05 pm
My desk is out of control. I need a better way to file and organize. neatdesk would be perfect. If I win, can I get the Mac verion?
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:06 pm
I recently went into business on my own. I am now the attorney, the secretary, the paralegal, the office clerk, the file clerk, the receptionist, and the bookkeeper, among other things. A new neat desk would be an awesome tool to help unclutter my life (not to mention my desk). Filing is often the last thing I get to and it would be such a stress reliever not to have to look at a mountain of paper on my desk.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:06 pm
I would get rid of the box of random pieces of paper that’s sitting in my closet. That box with things I know I should save but can never seem to find the one thing I’m looking for. I’d actually have receipts for the this be that break under warranty and be able to better track my deductable expenses at tax time. Plus, I’m pretty sure that box in my closet is a fire hazard.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:06 pm
I would save on wearing the carpet out back and forth to the large copy/scanner. I would be able to save so much time and paper. It would be a great addition to my office and would save numerous trees.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:06 pm
Man, this would be great…I’m a teacher and have a ton of papers (3 filing cabinets full) that I’d love to organize. I can see the NeatDesk fitting seamlessly into my life…
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:06 pm
I use NeatRecipts to keep my paperwork at home in order. What a great tool, saves me time and money! Tax time is a breeze, find thinks quickly and I can get rid of my filing cabinet. Looks like NeatDesk improves on the idae of NeatRecipts. Easier to use because you can load a number of bills or document at one time…NICE. I want one.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:07 pm
NEATWORKS saved my business which requires training and travel. Before purchasing Neat Receipts, billing and reports were delayed while waiting for receipts and documents to be found/organized and faxed or mailed with the invoice. I heard about Neat Receipts about 2 years ago, but did not purchase it for a few months. My small office is MAC-based. Then, I began using the PC version for my dual Mac.
The real break-through was the addition of the version for my MAC. Now, I am able to do my billing while in the field, and my scanner is the first thing I pack! I still have the original version but look forward to the day I can afford the upgrade. After creating the expense report, I simply add the total to the Invoice and attach the expense report then email it (Quickbooks) to my clients.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:07 pm
As a self employed owner of an accounting/administrative service/tax company the neatreceipt scanner is a great tool for many reasons, decreases the amount of papers and also organizes the electronic files in many categories - included for year end tax purposes.
Great piece of equipment!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:07 pm
I have been an Neat Receipts user for a couple of years, specifically for expense reporting while traveling. The receipt organizational capability works in concert with our corporate “Concur” Expenselink program to make my expense reporting process a breeze for the first time in my 25 year career.
NeatDesk would bring to my desk, what NeatReceipts has brought to my briefcase, order and time savings! The end of clutter as I know it. Truly a future I look forward to.
The two greatest inventions to come along in the past decade are the Neat Company scanners, and paper shredders!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:08 pm
This would be a great gift for my wife (she alway looking for receipts for something that is broken) plus this would help her at tax time too for her business
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:09 pm
I use NeatReceipts for everything when it comes to paper. I have not only reduced my paper storage in the house but it has also allowed me to use the application in a different way. I had an idea and did it and it works great. I have scanned most important documents with it then shred them thus protecting me ever so slightly from ID theft from the simple tear and throw away. But the nice part for me is that for disaster recovery reason I have backed up the data as well as the application every other month and placed the media in a secured location (pd). The functions of this little scanner and a little out of the box thinking brought me to that point. It added a little piece of mind. I now take the shredded stuff to the recycle location near me and discard the paper there. With NeatReceipts you can reduce your paper foot print and save some trees in the process.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:09 pm
I’ve been a Neat Receipts user since the first one was released. I currently use the small portable scanner with my laptop for all of my business trips. Having NeatDesk for my at home office would help me further integrate my move into a completely paperless home-based business.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:09 pm
I use NeatReceipts for windows when I’m on the road, but we run our two person tech center on a Mac. Having a NeatDesk for Mac would allow to scan business cards from visitors, important mail and receipts, plus convert our older research documents into editable/searchable PDF’s and word files. I can’t live without NeatReceipts when I’m travelling and I think we’d find the same benefits and necessity around the office.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:10 pm
I started using Neatworks for the mac in Dec and Its great ! My goal this year is no more paper, No more boxes in the cellar with tax records, and no more filing cabinets . . ! ! !
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:11 pm
I wish I had my paperport scanner back. Better quality scans and easier to use.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:11 pm
Currently a user of the older system, I have used what used to be called neat receipts, now NeatWorks for years…Because of the limited scanning capacity I only use it for my expense report. Having such a cool scanner would allow my piles to disapear and then my only excuse for any organizational lack would be the confusion I might have in wondering what the cherry colored thing was in front of my chair!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:11 pm
I am using NeatReceipts since January of 2009. Last year I had been searching and leaning more and more towards Card Scan just to organize tons of business cards I continuously receive at business meetings, seminars and other occasions. While debating to buy Card Scan and looking through scanning options at OfficeMax I found NeatDesk Scanner. I came home and did some research, it got me excited just by thinking that I can organize not just my business cards but documents and receipts too, just load and go process. I read the reviews of NeatWorks software too and wanted to buy NeatDesk which would have been ideal for my small business and suited my work flow. Unfortunately the price tag on NeatDesk was out of my affordable limits. Therefore I ended up buying NeatReceipts Scanner, no complaints, it takes longer to do every thing separately one at a time. If I can have a NeatDesk scanner it will free up lots of my time by faster scanning and loading all the business cards, receipts and documents at one time, let it start scanning and start filing without stopping to feed next business card or receipt or next document. NeatDesk will be a blessing for my small business and office workflow. My wife does not prefer using NeatReceipts due to manual feeding option, I am sure, if I will ever have the NeatDesk she will love the auto feeding feature and start helping me to organize business cards, receipts and documents, not just business related, personal one’s too.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:11 pm
I have had a portable NeatDesk for over two years and used it to DEATH! It was absolutely the best. Later I purchased for our Church the Office NeatDesk. I have been MORE than pleased with it, as the Church wanted ALL their paperwork, receipts and checks scanned into Adobe. I truly would LOVE to have one for my personal us. They are so handy and useful for the busy, cluttered people…a life saver!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:11 pm
I would love a neat desk to organize our papers. I am constantly looking for ways to minimize clutter, and I think this would be a perfect solution.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:12 pm
I’ve used NR’s for about 3 years now - updated to 4.0 when it came out. Great product!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:12 pm
Neat desk would be very cool to have. Can arrange home and work documents and be able to eliminate my filling cabinet.

A NeatDesk will help me find and keep a neat desk. I will be able to free up about 10% of my home office - which is a lot of space. Maybe even enough room to set up some exercise equipment - you know, the weights and stuff that are stored in the attic above my garage. Of course, if I get that stuff out of the attic, I can get some more stuff out of my garage. I might then be able to park my car in the garage. Wow, I need to get a NeatDesk.

This is what I hope to accomplish: remove 15 years of paper historical records - recycle after shredding of course; re-purpose the plastic bins that have been used to store document overflow, burn less electricity transcribing the information from receipts and statements into financial management software.

I have a neat receipts scanner that I have used for two years now. It’s great but a little slow keeping up with the amount of paperwork I get everyday. Would love to have a scanner that I can put all my documents in and hit the button and let it do it’s thing. I just love this software. I’m able to search for documents with ease and it’s so much easier than going through a file cabinet searching for a document. The text recognition works great too. I’ve been using the mac version for almost a year now and just love it. The best part is they made it easy to import the windows file. When things just plain work, they are amazing.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:13 pm
This scanner looks awesome and the fact that it can take multiple sizes automatically is a huge plus! Scanning receipts that are printed on thermal paper (and fade after several months) is a benefit from a tax standpoint (proving the actual expense did exist). The searchable database for receipts and documents means that I can purge paper copies and easily find the “copy” in seconds on my computer. Less stress and more control of the increased paper that our “electronic age” has generated. It would simplify my life by centralizing all of my business and personal papers.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:14 pm
Great timing for me to win! My two file cabinets are full and I have to empty a couple of drawers. What a relief to be able to scan the oldest paperwork and shred it. The ease of the task will most likely inspire me to scan the other drawers to unclutter and free up space, which I hear clears the mind and helps one be more productive. Now that is worth it!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:14 pm
I have always been a big fan of electronic files. I have used Paperport for years now to keep copies of software purchases/serial numbers etc. but found it inconvenient for samll day-to-day receipts like you get at Office Depot. Borders, etc. I saw the NeatReceipts system at Costco and really was interested but my laptop is a Mac and all I saw was a PC version. When I saw that a Mac version was available, I purchased it online immediately-it is fantastic! Now when I take a break at my local coffee shop I scan and file receipts! Cool!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:14 pm
I would love the opportunity to “scan and destroy” the few papers I still receive and wish to collate and access easily - go green and neat at the same time - wow - what a concept on earth day.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:14 pm
I’ve used the NeatReceipts for the last few years and it has dramatically helped reduce my filing for receipts for tax, merchandise returns, rebates, and warranties. Great product.
I’m excited to see what this can do for the rest of my paperwork … I try to get everything electronically, but still get tons of paper. Goodbye stacks!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:15 pm
My 13×18 office is wall-to-wall filing cabinets full of papers and, under every available set of legs, boxes and boxes of papers. On top of my filing cabinets I have stacks of papers waiting to be filed and on my desk I have stacks of papers waiting to be keyed in to the computer. My bookcases are full of paper storage units and the leg room under my desk has wicker baskets full of papers in various stages of need. The requirement to keep 7 years of records (for Gov’t) as well as records of purchases (for Insurance) is driving me around the bend of sanity. These has got to be a way to wrestle these records out of my grip and into some semblance of retreivable order…. Help, I’m drowning in paper.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:15 pm
My husband and I left our jobs after 15 years to start what we believe we were called to do, which was to start a church. We made a big step of faith and we are doing well but the pressure of having to run a business on our own is a lot of pressure. Everyday I pray for someone to come in and rescue me and show me how to focus and keep things in order so I can run our office more efficiently. Keeping records correct in our line of business due to the accountability is another stress, always wanting to make sure we are doing things right. I every so often think of the Neat Company and then I get overwhelmed to think of something else I will have to learn but yet know deep down inside that the Neat Receipts program may very well be my office savior.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:15 pm
Love the Neat Receipt program I have but would love to have the new Neat desk. I do Real Estate and dealing with contracts and receipts paperwork rules my desk. I love the feature of it scanning mulitple pages without having to wait for it to complete the single page scan.
The ability to email a file to my accountant is amazing and she loves me when I don’t hand her a shoe box full of papers.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:15 pm
I hate paper work….! I recently purchased the portable neatwork on impulse thinking it would be just an other gadget. I was wrong. The machine along with its software is amazing, it keeps everything clean and neatly organized. It has increased our accounting productivity ten fold. Keep up the good work and thank you.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:15 pm
Dear Neat Receipts,
I have been running a small business out of my house for nine years now. We do sales and marketing for many companies but have a history with pop culture products. The paper involved ranges from from tax receipts to purchase orders and is monstrous. Add to that I am a 2 year Thyroid Cancer survivor. If work didn’t make enough paper to bury me insurance companies sure do! Add to that I am hip deep in getting past my 3rd major trojan. Instead of every year or two having to wipe my hard drive and reformat to get rid of something that no one has figured out how to cure I am putting all of my information online. I would LOVE to have an easy way to do that with all my paperwork. I need Neat Desk the way most people need air.
Thanks for listening to my epic tale of woe.
Happy Earth Day!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:16 pm
No more paper please…… I used the NeatReceipt to get control of my expense reports and manage a complete CRM Database with very little manual entry by scanning in the hundreds of business cards I have. Now show me how to get rid of the rest of these piles of papers with the NeatDesk
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:16 pm
I have been using the neat receipt scanalizer for the past 3 years. i recently upgraded to version 3 and will soon upgrade to version 4. This product has been a real asset but the NeatDesk will be an additional plus , considering the speed that can be gained by inputting documents, receipts and calling cards into the input feed area.
when we upgraded to version 3 it was quite an improvement, the NeatDesk unit would be great to win. Having one of those units would save us more time.
If we do win the unit we will use the NeatReceipt Scanalizer in our remote lab.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:17 pm
I have been using the NeatReceipts System for a little over four months now. In that short amount of time it has become one of the most crucial tools utilized in my small business. For years, I had been searching for an efficient way to catergorize and organize the thousands of receipts and business cards that I had accumulated. Often, I would be forced to make multiple paper copies of items in an effort to keep accurate accounting and inventory records. After purchasing NeatReceipts, I was able to convert all of my receipts and documents to electronic format and accurately sort and categorize them. Although I love my NeatReceipts System, I will definitely upgrade to the NeatDesk to further enhance my productivity. Many thanks to all of you at The Neat Company!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:17 pm
I’ve used NeatReceipts for about a year and it has been not only a great way to reduce clutter and make filing easier, it paid for itself on my taxes because it made itemizing deductions so simple-especially the sales tax deductions. I hope to get a NeatDesk at home soon and then give my NeatReceipts to a family member so they can have a clean desk too.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:17 pm
The NeatDesk unit will simplify my life because I will be able see my desk again. I travel 2-3 weeks a month, so when I return home, I would rather be able to scan everything in and go and spend time with my family, instead of having to sort out everything and put into folders and envelopes (which wastes more paper and materials). I am also being audited for 2004 and 2005 by the IRS and it would be so helpful not to have to always be looking for receipts, etc. that they require. What a nightmare! How cool will it be to just type in a name, category, etc. and it pop-up? I imagine it will be a relief! Thank you NeatDesk for the opportunity.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:17 pm
What a lifesaver NEAT has been! Since my purchase of NEAT Receipts I have been able to streamline my paper trail to almost zero. With incoming daily receipts from my hot air balloon ride business I can capture them (receipts)with the NEAT system and never have to worry about fading or lost receipts. The NEAT system is easy to use and I look forward to many years of its use. Thanks again for a great paper saver. Gentle Breezes!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:17 pm
I was given the origional Neat receptsvers 2.0 for Xmas 2 years ago. It has been amazing for me who is a hoarder. I am more impressed with the constant up-dates which always improve efficacy!!!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:17 pm
One day coming back from my office I was carrying my briefcase full of papers and on top of that a paper shopping bag with even more papers in it. I thought things were getting a bit out of hand to say the least
so I took every single piece of paper out of the paper bag, looked at it and said: I’ll make a PDF out of that or import it into Neastworks, and store it on my laptop. Well low and behold I got rid of most of the paper in that bag. Then I tackled by briefcase and reduced the amount of paper by at least 90 percent. Could’net believe it when I picked up my briefcase: feather light ! Waste papere basket full of paper though ! Great job done that day. Now I store just about everything I can on my laptop using NeatWorks and keep as little paper as I possibly can, “and it works” that is the marvel of it all, it is just getting into the habit of doing it, and seeing how much less paper lies my desk or is stored in my briefcase (and by the way no more paper bags needed
either )
Thanks to you guys!
Albert

Fantastic Product. I’ve been using the PC version (now upgraded to Neatworks) for over a year now. It has worked flawlessly and saved me reams of paper and filing!
The upgrade to Neatworks was beautiful - the new version has certainly improved the look and functionality of the software.
Thanks!……….and I hope I win!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:17 pm
I have a terrible time keeping track of invoices and receipts. The neat desk would be a life saver. I’ve never seen this product until all the tweets showed up today! Great marketing campaign!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:18 pm
I love my Neat Receipts scanner. It helps me keep filing to a minimum, and it’s a great way to find documents when I’m in the middle of reconciling my checkbook, or doing my taxes every year. I am so thankful at times such as those, that I’ve been scanning my documents and receipts. My life is so much simpler!! I love my Neat Receipts!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:18 pm
The ability to co-ordinate all my documents and reference the items so I don’t have to make 3 different copies in different files would be substantial reduction in my time, and save all those tree’s for the oxegen.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:19 pm
A NeatDesk will help me declutter my life by being able to keep more info in digital format snd recycle the paper files that I currently have. I have read that it is a fast and easy way to organize your files for easy access. Winning one of these would be great!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:19 pm
I bought the neatreceipt mobile scanner and after using it for a couple of days bought another one for my father who is a truck driver. I love the way that the program works, and my accountant was amazed and will probably look into getting one. The neatdesk would be a great help when it comes to making my home office less cluttered and I will still have the mobile scanner for when on the road. Thanks for the great work you guys have done.
P.S. Customer service had me up and running after a small problem in less than five minutes and no interpreter needed
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:19 pm
I have been using NeatReceipt (Now NeatWorks) for the the last 10 months. It has changed the way I file paperwork, both work and personal. I love how I can search and print out any of my old documents or receipts. I also love how I can send someone else a scanned document as a PDF and they can search it, WOW!
I recently stared digging up important older receipts and documents that I may need in the future for Warranty repairs.
OH YEAH, what a difference. How may times do we need a receipt for a Cloths Washer that stopped working and now we need to dig up the paperwork and receipt to get warranty work don on it. I used to dig around my house saying, “Now where did I put that paperwork?” How many papers would you have to look through? Now, how long does it take to search through all of your electronic documents?
The Neat Company has helped a lot of users organize their life.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:19 pm
I keep track of everything with NeatDesk, two businesses, the household and some of my husband’s ranch receipts. The Inbox is great as it allows me to scan receipts without having to file them right away. This is such a help when you are just trying to keep up with the receipts. I have the original NeatReceipts scanner. It is so compact that I’ve actually taken it with me when I’m away from home. The integration with QuickBooks is also a plus. This is far and away a system for dealing with receipts and statements than having to manage and store tons of paper.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:19 pm
I’ve owned NeatReceipts for over a year now and think it is great. I would love to update it to the NeatDesk.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:20 pm
My office has currently taken on a new project that includes case management with the tracking of documents to enroll in Medicaid. We purchased the portable scanner and we love it. To have a desktop unit would be great to have for the office end of the paperwork. We would be able to have electronic files only, and not even start paper files. WOW! What a concept!!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:20 pm
What a great idea! I tried something similar a few years ago, but with three babies all of that paper got away from me. It would also be a great way of keeping six preschoolers out of my stuff!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:20 pm
I would be able to save time and paper a win/win
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:20 pm
I was an early adopter on the NeatReciepts for Mac and have found it invaluable. I own and operate a small restaurant where space is at a premium. We have a very small kitchen - and the office… well let me just say that at 6 feet, its good I weigh only 150 lbs. We have 30 + years of operating an environmentally conscious and sustainable business. The NeatReciepts has proven itself time and again with our demanding requirements. I can only expect the NEATDESK would increase efficiency exponentially.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:21 pm
I want to be a NEAT DESK when I grow up. When I was shipped out, I didn’t know where I would land. Now, I am not one to complain, but I am really over worked. My new owner uses me constantly. She even brought me on a trip to Arizona. Imagine that? Taking me on vacation! Recently, I over heard her talking about all the family photos, old documents and of course - receipts she wants to use on me. Please, help me! I can’t take it anymore. I’m just a little NeatReceipts and I should be a NEAT DESK!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:21 pm
We recently went “paper-light” in our veterinary practice on the front office side with our medical records and receipts. The back office however is still inundated with mounds of old records that we have to maintain and store. It would be wonderful to be able to have a clear desk at the end of the day, an easy way to retrieve records we “have” to keep when/if they are needed and develop a system for the future information. Thanks for offering this opportunity to win a tool to help us in our organization!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:21 pm
the NeatDesk would be a perfect solution to all of the paper work I have to keep for Probate court and tax attorney. I have so much clutter from receipts, bill, and court documents. It would be nice to have in all in one place and not in so many boxes. The NeatReceipts has help with some of the clutter but to elimnate all of it would be fantastic.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:21 pm
I would be able to cross a New Year’s Resolution off my list. I am recycling more but tools definitely make the job easier. To be able to store more of my papers, I could recycle one of my filing cabinets and eliminate stacks of paper that keep from getting to important things.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:22 pm
NeatReceipts for Mac has really helped with documenting shipping and receiving inventories at the warehouse where I work. We have thousands of materials cycling through our facility day to day and Neat Receipts helps archive packing slips and BOLs for my company. Plus, we have graduated from paper coping to digital archiving each form making us more green, thanks!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:23 pm
I currently am a NeatReceipts for Mac user. The scanner goes wherever I have my laptop. I would not be without it. Great for keeping records without having to deal with all the paper….
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:24 pm
At the moment, Nest Desk is still in its infancy. It has the potential to save a lot of paper but that is still something to hope for in the future. The back bone of the product is the software and this is the part that is the weakest link in the package. Area for focussing improvement would be the report and organizing options. Would love to explain the problem rather type it out as it.
All the best!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:24 pm
I travel every week and spend a bunch of time taping my receipts to an 8 1/2″ x 11″ white sheet of paper and then attaching to my TPS Report (sorry - bad Office Space movie reference). I then have to copy those those receipts to a PDF with my TPS Report (expense report) and submit them for reimbursement. Certainly there must be more more efficient way to track this information, while saving the copying. I do carefully try to reuse the back of old presentation material (of course it’s still 8 /12″ x 11″ and white). Thanks for the consideration.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:24 pm
My wife single-handedly runs a wildlife rehabilitation refuge with sporadic and occasional volunteer help. Her record keeping is minimal. If I can get her to stuff her receipts into a baggie until I can get time to enter them into a spreadsheet I am lucky. Her main thought is taking care of the animals and the receipts just go somewhere - anywhere.
These receipts are important as they are the basis for our tax returns. Anyway, I recently got the NeatReceipts for Mac. I have high hopes that the convenience of this device will vastly improve the capture and organization of many thousands of dollars worth of receipts each year.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:24 pm
neatdesk would be great to replace all the folders, boxes, and files off my desk by scanning them through. instead of all the clutter i will just have a clean desk, with neatdesk as an only tool to do it all.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:25 pm
Neatdesk made my life so much easier. With two little children and a business of my own, I always seem to have piles of paper around me. THe kids thought the piles of paper was drawing material. Now I have it all organized and bought some craft paper for my kids. Thanks.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:25 pm
NeatDesk is the answer to so many filing questions. I’m beyond ready to be converted to this filing answer. My current challenge is that I have way too much paper clogging my office with no way to file it properly so I can find it when I need it. NeatDesk is the answer. I’m ready to be converted!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:26 pm
I HAVE USED NEAT SINCE THE EQUIPMENT FIRST CAME ON THE MARKET. I FILED OVER 730 EXPENSE REPORTS IN THE LAST TWO YEARS AND HAVE COMPLETE BACKUP RECORDS FOR MY COMPANY AND THE IRS. WISH IT HAD COME ALONG SOONER.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:26 pm
My husband owns his own legal buisness and is NOT a neat freak. So I end up trying to organize everything from his business as well stuff from home. It has become a HUGE chore since I have gone back to school to get a Master’s degree. On top of that, I have 2 kiddos with ADD that can never find a spelling list if it meant saving their life. Oh how our family could benefit from this NEAT little organizing desk! I have your NEAT RECEIPTS and LOVE IT!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:26 pm
Neat Desk is a wonderful tool to save space and paper. Scanning receipts, business cards and documents is helping me to eliminate two large 4 drawer file cabinets full of paper. Also, it keeps me more organized and I can retrieve anything I want with a few clicks of the mouse!! Time savings, space saving and making me more efficient and productive. Just what we all need in these economic times. Deb McCracken
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:26 pm
Each piece of paper that crossed my desk used to have several destinations, so the copy machine would be put into high gear and the trees would shudder at the output! Now…each sheet goes through my Neat scanner and the rest of the office smiles as they lovingly delete the overrated documents I present to their email box
That one sheet then is shredded and through recycling, finds its way to some other poor sot who does not have a Neat scanner and the assurance that no electrons are hurt during the transfer of paper to digital. My carbon footprint has gone from astronomic to barely a whimper as my shredder rarely has the on button punched; my recycle bin remain empty and the trees stay alive to provide the much needed oxygen to this still overworked brain
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:26 pm
I am a huge fan of Neat Reciepts. It is time to get my office desk as orginized as my receipts at home. It would be so much easier to pull up papers on my computer in an organized manner rather than fishing on my desk.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:26 pm
I started with a simple copier/scanner at work in trying to go paperless. I upgraded to a neat scanner and software, but it lacked a bit of speed. Next step - the Neatdesk; the latest speedy tool for the future paperless home factory. Could this be the integrated tool to a true paperless factory at home? I think so….possibly very likely the next step in this evolution towards integration and paperlessness, and then ultimately save a few trees.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:27 pm
I got the neat NR to help keep track of my medical bills for my family. My insurance company can’t keep things straight. I have found it very helpful and have found many other uses for it. I use it to fax directly from my computer, also makes great pdf’s for attaching to emails. Great product. A ND would be even better. Thanks.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:27 pm
Wow! This looks great. I would use this to scan all the kids writing homework / projects ( already they are taking up so much room), then I would move on to scanning the family’s medical records, then on to my recipes! The possibilities are endless!!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:27 pm
I have gone totally digital thanks to Neat Receipt. I have the scanner right beside my computer and scan all the documents. I am self employed and have lots of documents which are all scan as well as my wife’s documents. Neat Receipts have also helped to do the tax returns much faster.
Thanks Neat Receipt!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:27 pm
I’m a real estate agent in South Georgia and have been looking for a way to go totally mobile. I had searched for the local Depots for electronics. I viewed the Neat Receipts for almost a year. The clerks in the stores didn’t know how they would work for me. So I was the first to buy it in our local board. I am a member of the local mls committee and train new and older agents on technology. I This worked great for me doing document in pdf. I could scan a document right infront of a clients and sent it to the other agent without leaving the home I have been showing. I use it on site and it is very impressive to my clients. No more need to follow me back to the office to copy and fax it no more. It is great and have shown other agents the quickness of the device. Thanks for a great product that saves me time and gas expense. So its a green thing too!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:28 pm
YES, YES, YES! Since purchasing my handheld NeatWorks Scanner, I’ve condensed 39 file boxes of paper docs into - AIR!!! I can’t imagine how much faster (and, well, “neater”) the NeatDesk would be! I’m on a mission — I want to be PAPER-FREE by Earth Day 2010 — no more dust, no more clutter — no more allergies! BRING IT ON!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:28 pm
Neat Desk is just so “neat” that it would certainly help me clear up the paper receipts that magically move around the desk, and can never be found again when you need them …
I can keep everything together and never lose those receipts and important documents and business cards again …
please please send me a Neat Desk so I can end up with two really neat desks … yours and my good old wooden desk !

More than anything, I want to get rid of receipts! I HATE RECEIPTS! And I want a way to easily file and retain important documents like insurance and tax information. Eventually, I’d like to scan and dump old records, for which I currently pay almost $200/month in storage fees. (That’s not counting the six four-drawer cabinets in my small apartment, and I would really like to use that space for living my life instead of documenting it.)
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:28 pm
Neat Desk will help me save important documents without the need to store the paper. I will be refinancing my home shortly and the escrow documents along are over 100 pages long. I have arranged with the escrow officer to send me only PDF documents. I only will have to print those requiring signatures save them again as PDF and send them back. This way they are easier to find and are backed up along with all my important files
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:29 pm
I’ve been using neat receipt (now NEATDESK) for several years now. I have been wanting to add the multi-page high speed scanner to my office since its release. To receive one for free would be great.
It would be wonderful to have this tool.
Neat Desk saves me so much time and space by scanning to excel, file, and quick books making my expense and record keeping efficient.
It has made my tax preparation, spread sheets, and p&l statements easier and much more accurate.
One of the best things about NEAT COMPANY is tech help & support. If ever I have needed them they have always been kind, quick to help, & professional. We all know how important this is in today’s press 1 world. Undoubtedly one of the best support teams in the industry.
Win one or buy one NEATDESK will be the best investment in simplifying your home/office files and receipts.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:30 pm
I use the Neat Receipts Scanner for EVERYTHING! We own a small business, so I utilize the program to it’s full potential - between invoices, bills, receipts, you name it - not to mention budgeting the household, keeping track of expenses and donations for “dreaded” tax time(which it hasn’t been for me since I got my scaner 4 years ago) - I even keep tryack of the remodling and upgrades to our house, titles for our cars - everything you can scan, we do!
Thank you SO much for such a fantastic product - my life was a cluttered mess before my scanner - and I tell everyone about it! I even keep the empty box on my desk to prompt questions about it! Thanks so much!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:30 pm
I discovered Neat while on the road traveling at work. I spend the majority of time away from home in able to support my 3 year old son. I own a home in a city 5 hours from him, and I work in the NE region of the US. I can’t begin to explain how this software/scanner has simplified my life. From past receipts and documents, to newly acquired, I am confident that I can store and access them anywhere I go. Keeping ones financial and personal records intact and at hand can be truly difficult. The added bonus is shredding and recycling the old paper. It’s encouraging to see what an impact this product can have on the future. The future for all of us and our families. GREEN and CLEAN !!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:30 pm
My home office is covered in papers from school, medical bills, magazine tearouts, etc. I need to be able to digitize all of it! I’ve been putting off cleaning it since it’s such a huge task to find a place for everything. If I could digitize, the amount of clutter I could get rid of would be amazing!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:31 pm
I really believe in the no/less paper revolution! For example I attend more than my fair share of seminars and conferences, so I purchased a tablet laptop to write and record my notes in digital format. However, one of the unpleasant side effects from attending these events is a lot of paperwork (expense receipts, conference handouts, business cards, etc.) that need to be filed, organized and summarized. How great would it be to simply digitize the information and forward it to the appropriate parties along side my digital notes. Your team has a great idea/product. Keep up the good work!
P.S. My girlfriend will love you guys because I can finally get rid of stacks of paper on my home office desk and empty some file cabinets. Who knew Neat was a relationship building company too!!

I have a business associate who has been using the neat receipt scanner for a while and am very impressed with its effectiveness. I sell to and manage accounts nationally and have piles of documents as well as travel reciepts that I have to file weekly. Currently I have to type all this information into either excel files, financial software or other applications. I have a wall full of file cabinets in my home office that I could eliminate with the NeatDesk.
Additionally on a personal level I could better manage the paper I file for medical bills, household bills and other improtant documents that I could file elecronically. All of which takes up several file cabinets in my office.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:32 pm
Not only would this serve to free up completely wasted areas of my home (stockpiled with old statements, documents, forms, etc.), it would assist me in my total digital conversion. My 1 year old daughter won’t try to play with files and paper! I’ve spent time every month for a year working to digitize my home/work flow. This gizmo sure would simply the process - and keep me recycling those ugly documents
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:33 pm
I’ve cut paper usage at our office in half & gotten rid of several filing cabinets over the last three years by switching to electronic filing. This would help us to do the same thing at home!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:33 pm
I was born an UNorganized person, but I SAW THE LIGHT when I found Neat Receipts. The minute I began using my Neat Receipts system, I couldn’t believe how much time I had wasted being totally in chaos and disorganization! I have “preached the gospel” of Neat Receipts to everyone I know and now I now WHAT I BOUGHT, WHEN and now all I need to know is WHY! ha No, seriously, I love the Neat Receipts system and I can’t imagination living without it! Thanks so much for it!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:33 pm
Using the Neat products have made my life here at the office so much tidier, along with the added benefit of not having so much paper stored in boxes, filing cabinets, etc. Printing to PDF instead of paper saves trees, and NeatWorks keeps all the electronic documents organized for me so I can keep track of everything.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:33 pm
My husband and I own an Independent Insurance Agency (whoa on the paper!). We work together, live together and parent together. We have an almost two year old son. We have lots of paper and NeatDesk would make our lives so much better and saner.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:33 pm
We absolutley love the Neat Company products, it is an awesome tool!! It helps us to organize our personal and office clutter! Neat desk would be a great addition!! Thanks for providing a product that helps the paperless process!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:34 pm
Simply NEAT!
I am a user of the neat receipts…I just love it. What I would do with the neatdesk unit is to incorporate into a sales tool for keeping people organized! It is really that simple.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:34 pm
I live in a state that permits either state income tax paid or general sales tax paid to be used as a federal tax deduction. It would be great to have a neat receipts desk unit to handle all the receipts I accumulate.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:34 pm
My NeatDesk scanner here at work just plain ROCKS! It has allowed me to scan our daily invoices and promptly shred them afterwards. A second unit for my home would allow me to scan my personal expenses/receipts and keep track of them for tax purposes. You have a great product Neat Company!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:35 pm
Every entry in a QuickBooks journal has to come from somewhere and that somewhere is paper. My small business produces thousands of entries and it would be nice to scan, categorize and shred instead of organizing and filing paper. I don’t think I’d go back beyond the beginning of the current year, though.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:35 pm
I can’t stand the clutter that a pile of paper can bestow upon an actual desktop. I already scan and file my documents but it’s a chore - a necessary evil. I don’t want to reinvent the wheel and this is where you guys come into play. Gimmie, gimmie!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:36 pm
NEAT Receipts is the greatest. I use it to scan all of my receipts for taxes and for maintaining my budget. We have given NEAT RECEIPTS as gifts and the people think it is terrific. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to your next upgrad.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:36 pm
I have been using NeatWorks with the small scanner, and it has been great at reducing my paper needs. My wife is working on a big archiving project and we have many boxes of documents in the house right now. NeatDesk would be great for this project, since there is so much to process!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:36 pm
I operate a small business out of my home. My mailbox is full of mail every day and in the past I have been unable to keep up with the paper work. It seemed to take hours just to file necessary documents and receipts. I even do my own taxes and this takes an unbelievalbe amount of time. Since I began using Neat Receipts, I have noticed a definite impovement in time savings. It took a little time to develop the right electronic filing system, but since I got this function organized, it gets better and better. I don’t know what I would do if I had to go back to the old manual paper handling and filing.
Thank you so much for a great time saver!!
Steve
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:36 pm
Can scan receipts, cards and everything else. Wonderful.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:37 pm
It saves printing and storing stacks of paper. I order a lot of software and hardware and all invoices, licensing information and other related documents are scanned and stored should I need them for warranty or reinstallation of the software. All electronic equipment warranty and registration paperwork is scanned before sending to the vendor just in case it gets lost or I need to prove ownership and there is nothing harder than trying to find an invoice or registration information months later. If you get any important paper document you’d be ahead of the game to scan it, because, just when you think you won’t need it, you will. Then try to find it….
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:37 pm
I’ve been using Neat Receipt for about a year now and it has definitely changed my life.
When doing expense reports before, I would make copy of all the receipts for my own record and send in the original.
Not only that Neat Receipt automatically export it into my company’s expense report template and I can keep track of which ones have been reimburse, I also help the environment by not having to make those extra copies and can quickly find it later.
I also use it to keep all my important documents in one place.
A total life saver!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:37 pm
This would be great, I have gone mostly digital in all other parts of life. I move around alot and use expense reports often. PDF;s are a daily part of my life. Thanks for Neat Reciepts
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:37 pm
I am an over the road truck driver and own my own truck. Have used Neat Reciepts now for the past year to keep track of all my expenses. I really would not care to go back to keeping them in a leger as I once did. My book keeper even gives me a break on keeping my books and doing my taxes because of it.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:37 pm
I am a packrat and have a real problem with filing. I now am up to almost 10 years of documentation that needs a home. A Neat Desk would allow my assistant and myself to finally get a handle on the mess.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:38 pm
My accountant loves me having Neat Receipt. Makes his job so much easier as everything is well-organized!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:38 pm
The very day I bought my NeatReceipts Scanner I started turning paper into power. I am a procrastinating pack-rat by nature and the NeatReceipt Scanner actually turned my whole situation around; it combined my love of keeping things with my reluctance to getting tidious things done with a positive, sustainable, outcome.. One action actually completes many tasks all at once. I store my documents, receipts, business cards and tax information all in a single scan. My expenses are in on time at the office, my contacts are up to date, my accountant loves me and my wife is happy all those papers are gone gone gone! It goes where ever I go, so light , so portable, so cool!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:38 pm
We use the NR for all our personal financial data.. But with the document feeder we could take all our dictations off of paper! This would be awesome. I love your product, and the neat desk would be awesome!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:39 pm
I have a Neat Receipt and would LOVE to have the desk unit. I have been scanning and recycling lots of stuff!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:39 pm
The digital archive idea is amazing! Aside from not having to file thing physically away for the 7 years it will also help me recycle the mountains of paperwork that I collect right away!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:39 pm
expense reporting made simple and timely for the road worn and weary
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:39 pm
This would be a wonderful innovative way for me to keep up with my family’s paperwork as well as my small home based business. I was very happy with my Neat Receipt scanner until I purchased a new computer system one year after purchasing it, but then they weren’t compatible. I was soooo disappointed and you guys didn’t have anything on the market to help me out. i used it for everything from receipts to medical records, making copies of birth certificates for the kids sports activity sign ups, all kinds of legal documents…and more. I have truly missed it tremendously…my business is so small I couldn’t afford to purchase another that would work with Windows Vistas. This would be such a help!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:40 pm
As an ADHD college student, I’m pretty much up to my neck in papers that I can’t identify, find, or use in any way.
I need a better way to live. Hopefully digital archiving is the answer… I hope I win the NeatDesk. A lot.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:40 pm
I suppose the main reason for wanting a neat receipt scanner is exactly as it is advertised; “Get Ready for a Paper Free Life” Organization is one KEY to a stress-free life and Neat Receipts accomplishes that very easily! AMEN! Tiffany D
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:41 pm
I hate PAPER - I love NEAT RECEIPTS
from the guy who cleans his office once a year do to his taxes.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:41 pm
I used to dread returning from a business trip. The following day was spent copying receipts and preparing my expense report to mail into our accounting office. Because the Neat Receipts scanner is so compact I use it on the plane trip home and easily convert the report and receipts to a PDF that I email accounting. Not only does this save time but paper and postage. Even better I have a digital copy of my report and all my receipts in my laptop. Really great to be able to consult a receipt and find the name and address of a great restaurant you ate at last time you were visiting a city.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:42 pm
My top 3 choices for how I would like to use the NeatDesk to reduce my paper clutter and simplify my life:
1. Business Cards - I have a humongous stack of business cards that I have collected over the years that sits in a pile on my desk. The shear size of the pile is intimidating. In my job, relationships and contacts matter, and I am not taking advantage of the opportunity.
2. Notes - I love taking notes with my computer because I can quickly harvest action items within my digital workflow, and because I can quickly search for that critical comment that customer X made 3 months ago during a meeting. Try doing that with a stack of papers. Unfortunately, my computer is not always on hand or the right tool for the job. Consequently, I have amassed a large collection of paper based notes. I can’t wait to digitize them with NeatDesk!
3. Simplify submitting expense reports (yuck!) - One of my least favorite activities is submitting expense reports. The thought of being able to scan, export, and then submit brings a smile to my face.
I can’t wait to get started!!!

okit’s like this- neat works saved my marriage!! I can finally stop my griping about all of the piles of paper that were constantly making me crazy. I have slowly but methodically gone through my piles and have gotten our lives organized.
The paralized feeling that i constantly had when I faced these tasks was overwhelming so i just let the paper pile up. Now that I have gotten us organized I make sure to update papers and receipts weekly so I don’t get myself in that mess again. It really is like having a weight lifted off of my shoulders and Neat Works is what did the lifting!!
I am also aware how much money this will save us in the long run since I can’t tell you how many “cash” receipts never got reimbursed over the years that will now be accounted for!!
I would LOVE to have the Neat Desk so that my husband can use the mobile scanner on his desk but I would have the work horse on mine.
My only suggestion and maybe I don’t know how to do it is that it would be great to be able to cut and paste the receipt without exporting??
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:44 pm
NeatDesk will help me reduce paper clutter and simplify my life as well as being able to RECYCLE what I have scanned onto my desktop. It would help me organize and file my paperwork without a mess! Finding something will be 10 times easier than having to file through a ton of papers in a filing cabinet…..or search through hundreds of business cards….or look for a receipt. I also love the idea of being able to download documents and receipts online without having to waste paper printing!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:44 pm
This is a great device! I’d love to get rid of my filing cabinets for good! Plus, when it comes to tax time, I’ll have a much better way to organize my receipts…wow it could pay for itself that way!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:45 pm
I’m a college student, and I have been attending a lot of job fairs recently, because I’m looking for a summer internship and I’m going out on Co-Op in the fall. Neatdesk would help me better organize the contact information that I receive. I also run a small business where I have to collect the receipts and invoices that I buy for clients, and having neatdesk would allow me to better organize it, not have to worry about loosing or damaging copies, and allow me to send them a copy via email, wherever I am with my laptop; with out having to use my bulky overkill, and slow, all-in-one printer.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:45 pm
Very cool product. This really help me and wife keep all our receipts and documents organized.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:45 pm
As a self employed engineer I am always looking for ways to simplify my busy schedule. In less than a week I was able to scan and catalog nearly 500 business receipts with the handy portable scanner. Now that I got it I can keep up with my receipts throughout the year. The bee’s knees is the software! It makes organizing and reporting my data simple and easy. I was able to complete my taxes in two day when it took me nearly three weeks before. Thanks NeatWroks.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:46 pm
The Earth danced and the trees sang when The Neat Company created their system for eliminating wasteful paper copying! I already use my Neat Receipts for Mac to organize my paperwork where ever I go, so with a NeatDesk in our office my whole staff could join the Neat revolution in document management! Faster, Cleaner, Greener — Happy Earth Day!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:46 pm
We use it for a lot! We have home businesses and investments, in which we manage a Mount Olympus of paper, from receipts, invoices, reference materials, vendor agreements and more. We make redundant backups of everything, one of which is housed offsite and as such we are assured that all of our records and important customer information is safe from disaster.
I believe we are down to about 1 - two drawer file cabinet now, and soon one of those drawers will probably store something like gourmet coffee soon.

I love my Neat Receipt scanner!!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:46 pm
My wife and I have chronic illnesses, as does one of my sons. A Neatdesk would help us wrangle the paperwork associated with the numberous prescriptions, doctor’s bills, reciepts, and insurance claims that we have to file monthly. This would make trackign emdical expenses, deductions, and many other facets of the mess MUCH easier.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:47 pm
I could eleminate the mountain of papers sitting on my desk! I could sca all of the business cards lying around! I could scan all of the bllls I have and pay them on time!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:47 pm
Taxes made simple! No more saving boxes and boxes of fading receipts!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:47 pm
I use the portable scanner and just love it for my gym in Colorado and then in my gym in Minnesota. Saves time scanning receipts in the airport between locations. Anything I can do to be better organized is huge!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:48 pm
I can’t believe the difference Neat is making in simplifying my life of too many paper documents. I could use the NeatDesk to do more and faster.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:48 pm
We have been using Neat Receipts for nearly three years and have recommended the program to many clients. Many of them are now using the program. It simplifies record keeping, and by doing this it enables my clients to not overlook valuable tax deductions. The amount of tax dollars saved by the Neat Receipts program more than pays for the initial cost of the program. By improving performance through a reduction of paperwork, this program is not on ecology friendly but also cash friendly. As a CPA, this program is truely an accountants dream.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:49 pm
Using Neat Receipt at work has been amazing. I would love to be able to organize my home finances and medical records.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:49 pm
I love our Neat Receipt, we are just starting up our home based business and being able to locate costs & expenses for the business vs our personal purchases. Made our 2008 taxes at least half as difficult as I had expected. Next year will be even easier, as I won’t have to catch up on entering everything, and the deduction for state sales tax was as simple as reading a line on the screen. No calculations, no guessing, and best of all we were able to deduct $400 more then the standard deduction.
Thanks,
Ben

We have two businesses in our home. NR helps me keep our expenses for each separate, taking the guesswork out of taxes!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:50 pm
I have a small space to keep files and I have a lot of incoming paper! There are always reminder notes, letters and other things on my desk that I wish I could get rid of or at least organize better so I don’t have to see them. I think NeatDesk could help me to achieve this and make my workspace calmer and more productive.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:50 pm
I am supposed to be the “glue that holds our businesses together”: One nutritional consulting and one software. My number one goal in life is to be the glue that holds my family together. With a husband, eight children (plus an unofficially adopted one) and sixteen grandchildren scattered from coast to coast who have critical unpredicted emergencies requiring grandparents without advanced notice, plus needing to travel around the country and the world for my work, I need to be able to have every thing on my laptop so I can work from anywhere, anytime and have every contact, document, reciept, etc. neatly organized and available. Right now, the never ceasing avalanche of papers is the solvent dissolving my glue. NeaDesk sounds like it could be my superglue!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:51 pm
hmmm never knew this existed… I think i wold like to have one.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:51 pm
People that look at my desk tell me that I must be so very disorganzied becasue they cannot see the desk. I just tell them that I have a clear mind!
My desk is cluttered with paper, business cards, and receipts; because I save everything. You just never know when you will need that price that you wrote down or received from a supplier. Having an opportunity to be able to have an electronic filing system would be a life saver and make things much more manageable.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:51 pm
I travel and move a lot and am always printing and bringing along files and wasting more paper then I need to. I would love to have one of these- it would make my life much simpler and one huge step closer to having a totally green office.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:51 pm
I have been using Neat Receipts since the first scanner came out. I then started using Neat Office as soon as it was available. I am high school teacher and as you know teaching generates huge amounts of paper. I have really been trying to go green by scanning in all my students assignments and then have then keep them on flash drives instead of carrying notebooks around. I can ask for the flash drive up load their papers and shred the actual papers by not having to keep large file cabinets of papers around. The greatest blessing of this as I need to make assignments for them I can scan them into the computer place them on the school web site where they can download the assignments to their flash drives and then uplaod the completed assignments back to me. The use of paper is going up so with us going green I can see great opportunities for students to get used to not printing but saving files onto their respective flash drives. I would hope someday I can get the school to stop paper and send all corospondence via email, if they had a desk scanner they could. I would hope that other teachers would see the need to cut back on paper and use the newest technology available.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:52 pm
Two years of taxes made a breeze. YOU GUYS ROCK!!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:52 pm
Help! Our Red Cross chapter office is drowning in paper. The file room is stacked to the ceiling. My office space has no more room for a file cabinet. My piles of files are threatening to cause an avalanche. My desk is buried somewhere under here. Everybody else is in the same situation, but times are tough. We just don’t have the funds to buy a proper scanner right now. We would love to use your wonderful Neat Desk scanner to clean up our act. Quick as a flash our world would be neat and clean again.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:53 pm
I was so reluctant when my husband brought home another organization “gadget” to try to get our home office under control… but now I LOVE IT! I would really love another NeatDesk for work to clear up the office and present a professional image! It would really cut down on time lost “hunting” for paperwork and that means money in my pocket!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:53 pm
Oh boy! Every comment applies to me. I need this ND. Tax time - I just applied for an extension. My day job - I’m a teacher drowning in student papers. My other job - I own a small home business which generates lots of paperwork (see taxes above). My free time - I’m a member and treasurer of a volunteer fire department. Paper is a fire hazard. If begging will help I’m ready. Thanks.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:54 pm
I work for Xerox and sell multifunction products that have this capability, so I guess I’m considered your competitor. With that said, you sell a GREAT PRODUCT. This technology is extremely advantagous and I’m all for GOING GREEN!! I want one of these for my desk because my Rolodex is OLD SCHOOL!! I have about 2000 business cards that I need to scan and this is the perfect solution for me. I don’t normally win this sort of thing so THROW ME A BONE!!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:54 pm
I have been using the NeatWorks software with another scanner at home, but need an integrated solution at work. I am very intrigued by the possibility of using great software with a scanner that is specifically designed to work well with the software!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:55 pm
Stop the madness. I am sent business plan after business plan to review. The thought of keep them in an electronic fashion and most importantly, filed properly would be a tremendous asset. Add to that personal files, bills, receipts etc. and my life will become and organization inspiration to modern man!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:55 pm
I am a REALTOR and could use this to keep all the business cards of every contact I need. I would scan in all my file’s and wouldn’t have to keep drawers full of papers. I could keep all my expenses on a file in my computer! This is so Awsome!!!!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:56 pm
I have been using neat receipts for quite ahile now which saves me from taing my receipts to paper and then photocpying for achivng and printing. Thanks to neat receipts I see myself going en more digital in the future.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:56 pm
NeatDesk will help me reduce paper clutter and simplify my life by allowing me to finally get rid of boxes and boxes of old receipts and paperwork that I have to haul around every time I move.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:57 pm
I have homeschooled my 5 kids for the past 20 years and have lots of papers that have accumulated in my school room. I also teach in a homeschool tutorial for various grades and many students. This would be such a great help to me so that I may file away all my paper work! My husband could also use this because he is self employed. Our “school room/office” is filled to the brim! It would be awesome to have one of these!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:57 pm
I store all my statements and important documents directly from the email or e-statements and it is easy to find them and also do not get or waste any paper.
Thanks
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:57 pm
This really looks awesome! It would make my transition to paperless a lot easier!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:57 pm
Thanks to Neat Receipt I’ve embarked on an ambitious program to electronize all my files and records. To date I have scanner over twenty years of taxs returns. I have such faith in the system that I’ve destroyed the originals…only keep the electronic copies. Next will be my twenty some years of military paperwork, original orders, and awards. The beauty is that I’ve reduced several feet of files into inches of disk space!
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:58 pm
Neat Receipts helped me organize my tax records for last year and I have a big leg up on this year. I have BOXES AND BOXES of historical personal and business documents stored in my garage. I would love to get these organized as well. I am 67 years old and a paper pack rat.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:59 pm
Neat Desk would do exactly that. Make my desk neat!! I would use it for every piece of paper I receive. I would only need to handle every piece of paper once. When I have it scanned it will be forever organized and easy to find thus making my life more neat and organized! What a great device for a neat freak like me.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:59 pm
One might ask (as I did), especially contemplating Earth Day, how a scanner can help save natural resources — since the resources are consumed in the production (documents, receipts, etc.) and the act of scanning doesn’t change that. Many posts here refer to the joy (experienced or anticipated) of reducing cabinets full of paper to electronic records, and I certainly share in that. But other than getting old paper into the recycling stream, how does it help?
I can answer that. What is wonderful about Neat Receipts/Works/Desk is the parallelism of paper-originated and electronic-originated records. They are both turned into PDF files, intelligently parsed into fields, and stored uniformly. So while the outside world is still consuming paper and ink to transmit information, in the eWorld I can simply choose “Save Receipt to Neat Works” in the (Macintosh) print dialog, and both content (parsed fields) and presentation (needed for legal reasons in many instances) are preserved together, without consuming paper. The value in that is greatly enhanced by uniting paperless documents with the content and presentation derived from scanned paper. Thus the ability to scan paper really does encourage the use of less paper… And then we of course recycle the old paper.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:59 pm
As a business consultant and entrepreneur there are two things that remain critical to me; 1) that I can manage the mountain of receipts from travel, 2) that I can capture and manage written summaries from meetings. As I use my first generation NEAT products I connect them to my business laptop workstation. I have developed a pretty good process that allows me not only to get through all my travel cocumentation but also keep valuable notes and thinking for my clients. I have recommended these tools and guided other executives to this solution as they work on managing their lives for greater efficiency. I have regained time with my family as a result.
April 22nd, 2009 at 4:01 pm
As a small firm lawyer I was put in charge of creating a paperless office in order to improve client service, confidentiality, file access, and reduce dead file storage costs. I started out with a flat bed scanner that took up half a desk and was very slow. I then tried Neat Receipt which has a good speed and small footprint. We now scan everything that comes in or goes out to a client using two Neat Receipt scanners. My secretary loves the time saved in filing and retrieving client matters. We have cut our paper use by more than 75% and reduced the need for additional storage space each year by over 90%. We give clients electronic storage media of their file and they love it. The new NeatDesk would make our scanning process easier and more efficient. If we don’t win one, our staff will be nagging me to buy one. Saw one at Staples and they sure look good.

I am in the process of preparing to make a major move after many years in this house so I need to to reduce the number of personal, household, and business papers while retaining the information. The Neat Desk is the perfect solution to help me organize as well as retain important information in a more compact and useful digital format. I visualize a few storage boxes with a Neat Desk and external hard drive when I move instead of all the file cabinets I currently own. Thanks, Neat Receipt, for helping me become more organized and green!

I spend days in complining my paperwork, invoices and reciepts to prepare my tax every year. I have to file extension in the past 3-4 years. I am getting old and forgot a lot of details of the receipts. It is driving me crazy. If I have the Neatdesk, I will not have any excuse not to file the paperwork as soon as I get it everyday. It will make my life easier and spare me more time to play more golf during the month of April.

This year is my first year with a NR scanner. I upgraded to NeatWorks and have been using it to store copies of all my receipts, both personal for export to Quicken and business for Quickbooks. The only way to improve it would be for the images to be exported to Quicken 2009, which allows attachment of images to transactions!

I love neat receipts. It has made my life so much simplier and I am able to incorporate my data to quicken accounting program.
No longer do I need a file cabinet nor boxes to store receipts. They are backed up in my SD card. Receipts are easier to locate.
And for those who like to print, you can save the receipts to pdf and print them for filing by category…
It is a life saver especially for our beautiful earth!!!!
Thank you Neat Receipts for taking care of our needs especially our earth.

I use the product at work and it would be very nice to do some of those things at home with my personal information and data. I have the first generation product and this is so much better.

Wow! If I could only be one of the random posters drawn to win one of these I would be a happy man. I own a HUGE scanner. I own a Canon 30 scanner. I own a broken portable scanner. I use Paperport to file all of my receipts, but I have to do that in my office and I’m not there very often, so paperwork just piles up in my van, case, invoice box, etc.
That, or make me an offer I can’t refuse.

recently purchased the small Neat Receipts unit to pack along with my laptop. I plugged the scanner in and it just worked as advertised and is so much easier to understand and operate that the Scan Snap I have on my desk.
On my desk I prefer something more hefty than the light weight NeatReceipts unit. Your NeatDesk, running identical software as the NeatReceipts, would be an awesome addition to my office and workflow.

As a Ph.D student and CEO of two companies–I have a lot of paper scattered around. Unfortunately, I’m constantly traveling, so the paper gets crammed into 3 brief cases that I have to lug with my everywhere! NeatDesk will not only save my sanity, it will save my back and my relationship.

Neat receipts is the best. It has helped me to organize my records, anything from personal or home improvement to business receipts.
Thank you for a wonderful product.

In this tough economy it is even more important to stay on top of your expenses. Using the NeatDesk and it’s software will help me organize my expenditures and make sure I keep my spending under control. It also has the added value of keeping digital records and scanned copies of my receipts. In better terms, it helps with keeping green and staying green.

I had a NeatReceipts that was stolen last year…AND I MISS IT!!! I am a teacher and would use the NeatDesk differently from others in that I scan papers to project onto my whiteboard for my students to complete…I don’t have to waste paper on copies! Best of all, the students get to have kinesthetic (moving) practice which help them remember whatever they are doing better. I utilize the PDF ability extensively so that (again) instead of making 165 copies, I only have to make one
Thank you for having this kind of contest!

NeatReceipts has helped me get visibility and control of cash expenditures, a goal that eluded me for many years. Now, I have the details of the past three years cash expenditures at my fingertips. Thanks Neat Company, your system works to capture the data and make it available for use.

We are huge fans of your products and we can use this NeatDesk to save all of our business expenses, business contacts, our customer contracts, etc filed in digital format. We have the entry level neat scanner, and couldn’t do without it going forward. As a start-up non-profit social service agency, we have incorporated paperless technology from day one. All administration documents are now electronic, and we find new ways to store former paper document formats daily. The neat scanner has even saved us from having to refile a sales tax return, as we could just email the scanned return to the state office. How did we ever survive without this???!!!!

NeatDesk will definitely save me time looking for those “lost” receipts. Not only will it simplify my life but will allow me to recycle most of the paper that crosses my desk! Nothin’ but a Green thang baby…

This will be a great way to keep and organize my office records and expense reports.

My husband insists on saving everything! If I could scan it all in from receipts to notes I could save hours of filing and finding when we need it. Hard drive space is cheaper than filing cabinets. Pick me please!

I feel that if I had a neatdesk that my business would be so much easier to run. currently we have a bazillion reciepts everywhere and contracts everywhere and stuff is just everywhere. Did I mention that we have stuff everywhere? This would help my life get organized and make it really easy to get things done and organized. I feel now that there is not enough time in the day to stay on track and organize my life and business. With neatdesk it would be too easy and too quick to get things done and hopefully would free up some time to do more important things such as network and grow my business. Then I can show everyone how neatdesk enhanced my life and business.

Neat Receipt is a truly wonderful product that I thinkevery person should have.
Ever since it was promoted, I think 5 years ago, on Martha Stewards show I ordered one. It was not even available in Canada at the time. Since then I have basically reduced my paperclutter to about 1 drawer, with very little in it.
With the updates that have come out over the past year, it is even more useful and fun to work with. Great product.

I have the portable unit for business and just love it. Need a desk unit in the office just to get rid of more paper. This has saved not only paper but storage space as well.

Working in the Construction Management field produces literally hundreds of receipts a day. This product to us is the equivalent to the invention of the computer. Our project managers can produce the same account processing results in a small fraction of the time with more accuracy and with more versatile summary reporting. This product alone can prove to save our project managers up to 6 hours on an average week, allowing them to be substantially more productive and getting them back in the field where they belong. This not only saves us money, but enhances our effectiveness to our customers. We are looking forward to seeing all the functions that this product can do and what other aspects of our business that it can help us with!

What a way to simplify! I work as a traveling ER nurse. This means I move around A LOT, spending about 13 weeks at each location around the country. It is crucial that I keep things light and streamlined as I travel from place to place. The NeatReceipts offers just what I need. It is a small, lightweight device that has the ability to reduce my paper clutter, keep me organized, provide a very easy way to reference my documents and records and makes sorting through all the year’s financials during tax season a breeze! As I see the paper clutter disappearing into my recycle bin, I am met with a peace of mind. My records are cleaned up, my clutter is cleaned up and hopefully, we’ve just done something to help the world get cleaned up.

I am a stock trader. My paperwork from both trading and research (besides my personel papers)is astronomical. By storing on the computer, I save a multitude of paper. How much more green can I get.

Just did a great demo of their portable scanner and Neatworks software for Mac at our user group SMMUG (School of Medicine Mac User Group) meeting last month. Showed how to scan receipts and magazine articles into the program to cut down on saving all the paperwork in boxes/files and having OCR done on the documents for quick searches.

What a BOON to being paperless. I’m a self employed business gal. I scan receipts, business cards, notes, menus and anything else that will REDUCE THE MOUNTAINS OF PAPER I have around my home office. It feels great to shred the originals and have copies on my computer. When I need to I also upload items to my cell phone. Neat Receipts has been a real frustration saver. Thanks for your fine product.

Thanks!

I have been a happy user of Neat Receipts for over 3 years. I don’t want to sound like a commercial on Television, but it was the greatest office tool I have ever purchased. A Neat Desk in my life right now would be the ultimate and total Salesperson’s dream come true. When it comes to backing up my documents, receipts, and other paperwork, I’m on the obsessive/compulsive side. Neat Desk would make my life much easier!

As an accounting firm we have so much paper that going Green with NeatDesk is fabulous. We even convinced some of our older accountants that paper is not necessary for all transactions and now
