Winners of the Earth Day NeatDesk Giveaway Revealed!
May 12th, 2009 by Neat
Everyone here at The Neat Company was thrilled at the overwhelming response to our Earth Day NeatDesk Giveaway contest. (Well, everyone except for our IT guy, who had to deal with several server crashes….sorry Duane.)
With over 1500 blog comments and several hundred re-tweets, we are still poring through all the fantastic comments we received, describing all the ways a NeatDesk scanner and digital filing system would help you conquer paper clutter and organize your life.
We selected 10 winners at random from both the blog and Twitter entries. Below are the winners, along with some of their comments. We truly hope that NeatDesk will help you all realize your dreams of total digital organization!
AND THE WINNERS ARE…
Alan H.
“I love NeatReceipts. I scanned about 5 years of paperwork, receipts, invoices, warranties, medical and insurance contracts, legal documents, and I only kept about 2 inches of required legal paperwork. I took 6 large garbage bags of paper to the shredding company for recycling. I can see my desktop, emptied out my filing cabinet and gave it away. I did this years accounting on Neat Receipts and used the reports summary/detail by category to give to my tax accountant on electronic format. No paper being stored here, all being shredded and recycled. It is now easy to keep up to the receipts and paperwork I receive every day. I love my Neat Receipts and would love the desktop model.”

“If Forrest Gump was commenting on my organizational skills he might say “Life is like a bunch of paper piles… you never know how many you’ll have or how tall they’ll go.”
As an artist and all-around “creative” person - I truly exist in piles. And for the most part I know which pile something is in. But lately (and that means, post-children), i can’t say that i’m as on-top of of my piles as i used to be. Between receipts, business cards, invoices, estimates, proposals, bills and more bills - i am literally drowning in paper…”

“I am a documentary filmmaker and in addition to using Neat for my receipts, statements and business cards, I am also now using it to store contracts and release forms. When I film a large event, I sometimes have thousands of rights, contracts and appearance release forms that need to be tracked and stored. In the short time I have been using Neat, it has helped me in ways I never originally imagined.”
Neal N.
“These two photographs speak for themselves. If you can not see them visit my web site at http://web.mac.com/nealnewfield/iWeb/AshesEcstasy/P.1.html Look at the page titled “Neat Contest”
I am a professor of social work and a documentary photograph. The only item better then a Neat Desk for Mac would be a Neat Desk for Mac with a built in shredder.”
Hilary G.
“The Neat Desk could be enormously helpful both in the office and at home to help process large quantities of receipts, business cards, and other documents to be organized and archived in digital files. There are decades of files to scan, shred, and recycle to free up valuable space. The Neat Desk would be an invaluable tool due to its ability to batch feed and scan many documents at once. This would considerably reduce the processing time to complete this daunting project. The project is so big it’s hard to imagine without the help of the Neat Desk. It would be great to be able to live almost paper free and improve the fung shui at home and at work. Winning a Neat Desk would be life changing!”
Christine A.
“My husband and I live full-time in an RV. Space is crucial as well as weight considerations! Being able to scan and store receipts and documents on the computer (and backed up on a portable drive) would allow us to dispose of all the paper we have to file! Plus, it would be much easier to locate a receipt or document using the search capability.”
George S.
“I am a packrat and have a real problem with filing. I now am up to almost 10 years of documentation that needs a home. A Neat Desk would allow my assistant and myself to finally get a handle on the mess.”
